Butting heads with a Board of Education member today lol.
This lady is terrible with computers, leads in troublecall tickets by at least 15-20... and that is when she puts tickets in and doesn't consider herself above that.
Anyway, she called the guy who is normally here today, on his personal cell, to say she needed new speakers. Well we don't have new speakers, we have different ones so I took up a set anyway. Got up there and her speakers worked fine... She then says "Yeah, I know they work, but if you have newer ones, I want them." to which I relayed "There are teachers with no speakers right now, and new speakers will be going to them first. You don't get new speakers if your current speakers work." Her face, you would think I just jerked off on her shoes. So I left, 5 minutes later she calls and says the speakers are broken... I go upstairs and see the volume on VLC was turned all the way down... Like... did you really think I wouldn't check that?
So about 10 minutes later I am talking to the other guy that works here and that is when I find out she is a BoE member, which... I don't really think I give a *** about? To me if anything, more should be expected of her, an understanding of how being selfish and hoarding tech would negatively impact other teachers, and therefor other students.
I certainly don't mind showing up at a PTA meeting and bringing it up to parents, or writing a letter or two to the local newspapers opinion sections to see what other people think, that is if she wants to get into it with me :)
