The Nightly Show has it's moments.
I've always made the argument that CBS is for old people, and the way he conducts his show proves it. They have the leash so tight on Colbert that he can't be the person he is. Colbert was always coy, sarcastic and everything he said had a wink in it. CBS took all that away, so he's stuck just being another David Letterman. Nothing wrong with Letterman, but Colbert deserves a lot more. Comedy Central let him be the Colbert he wanted to be, and CBS... they're forcing him to be someone he's not. I've seen enough of the show to know that he looks like he's being tortured.
As for Trevor Noah, I really wanted to give him a chance. He's funny, but he's missing the bite. After Jon took the show away from Craig Kilborn, he turned it into something that was more than just a half hour satire show. He made it a powerhouse and a political contender. Noah... he's bringing it back to Kilborn status. If it wasn't for his correspondents, that show would be tanked by now.
Honestly, the only talkish show worth watching now is LastWeekTonight with John Oliver. I just wish he did more than one show a week.
