Also, there are tons of places in Canada that do sell and make traditional/classic native American dishes. Although they mostly reside in the tundra or smaller towns and reservations that focus on maintaining their history while moving into the future.
Yup; I would never suggest Magnuss go to a reserve though, even if they did agree to sell to outsiders. Apparently My town is getting an Urban Reserve soon. Maybe I'll get a chance to mail him something quality.
Well, we actually have a nice Native American population out here. In fact, if I went south for about 5 minutes, I would hit a reservation. They're not the most welcoming people either, but they'll be glad to take some coin off ya. Out here, they serve up fry bread tacos which is similar to the Bannock you were talking about but then they put ground beef, lettuce, tomato, cheese, sour cream and spices, etc. in it. Also, if I were to head east for a couple hours, I'd hit New Mexico which is renowned for their hatch chiles (which they put in everything... but it's AMAAAAAZING).
Thanks for your input by the way, guys. So right now, when I go to Wisconsin, I'm going to make some poutine, I'm going to order a couple boxes of Kraft Dinner (just to taste the difference) and I looked up a recipe for Nanaimo Bars. Also, if I can order some fresh moose meat while I'm in 'sconny, I'll give that a try, too.
