Also you're missing out.. Unless you're a movie snob that hates most of the stuff Hollywood pushes out. It's really no better or worse than any movie that's seen a major release in the last 5 years or so, well assuming you like the premise of the movie.. I don't expect you to hate the premise of like the Justin Bieber movie, but like Transformers and say neither is worse than the other.
Oh don't get me started. People have some weird *** reasons for not liking the movies. I mean, of course not everyone will like them, but things like "too many robot battles" make me /facepalm.
other than guy movie night, which just means we watch a lame action movie (stephan segal, chuck norris, etc), i can't see myself sitting down to watch a transformers movie. i've never been that into them. i love gundam wing though =O!

Yeah, I feel that way with a lot of movies.. It's become the new 'in thing' to bash on movies.. I dunno what these people are seeing, but movies haven't changed that much (other than a major improvement in special effects) over the last 20-30 years..
Although I will say this new obsession with 3D is destroying movies.. Now it's become a contest of the best way to show off this technology, which means they go to ridiculous lengths to work it in, and it just doesn't end well... Take Drive Angry for example.. Coulda been better if they weren't so focused on making ***3D.
It's a lot like how things changed when they discovered new and better technologies to 'add to the experience' in the early and mid 70's..

If you've never been into Transformers, then you will love the movies.. I guaran-***-tee it... The director didn't even know anything about them, nor did he want to, so you don't need to know them or have been a fan to watch the movies.. The majority of people who complain about the movies are always bitching about how it's a bastardization of the franchise.
i think there is a big difference between movies 20-30 years ago and today, it's not that i think they make less good movies. i just think they make more bad ones. maybe it's me getting older, but most movies are crap. i have a few shows i like to watch and i enjoy some movies. i just think movies have been going downhill. the post ben stiller > will ferrel > seth rogan comedies are all bland and lame to me. most "horror" movies are just gory or japanese rip offs. i have my guy momments where a good action scene can make a movie, but something that's engaging and clever is rare.
The first part is completely opposite of me, the later part is completely like me..
I just discovered, I'm a paradox..
I think there are a lot better movies made today, and less good ones from back then.. I'm a fan of B-Movies, so I'm not super-critical of what I watch, as long as the story is right, the acting isn't cheesy as ***, and the effects are decent, then I'm happy.. But when I look at movies from 20+ years ago, and compare them to movies today, it's just not there, of course the effects aren't going to be as good, so I look past that, but the story just isn't there, and the acting is just so bad... There are very few movies from pre-1990 that I can even tolerate, even fewer that I enjoy. It's not from a lack of trying, they're just absurd.. For example, look up and TRY and watch Troll 2.. I have seen some B-movies in my time, but it is absolutely horrible.
However, movies today I agree have become far too generic, and it predictable (which started my obsession with B-movies) I like it when a movie makes me think, or can ~gasp~ take me by surprise.. I seek out those movies. Since they're all generic, I look for movies (from Hollywood I mean) for more unique plots (such as The Happening or Cowboys and Aliens) or for movies with good action sequences (Transporter, Transformers).
I think you boys need to watch more movies. :3 Watching a new movie every 2 years pretty much says you don't give many a chance to prove their worth. But I guess not everyone is into movies anyway... I dunno. That's one of the reasons I will watch movies from any genre. I enjoy a thought provoking, mind-*** type movie as much as I like a pure eye candy movie.
It does make me sad that the horror genre is full of so much trash now. I absolutely love horror films, but lately they lack the horror part. D: I loved the new A Nightmare on Elm Street though!

I forgot where Im going with this...my brain...it hurts
This is a thread that I found on another website I post at. It can be really really interesting. I thought it deserved a place here.
Post your random thoughts for the day here, or anything else that intrigues you.
For starters, is it possible to give constructive critism to someone who doesn't have a neck? I totally just walked by a girl who didn't. Someone isn't getting a necklace for Valentines day!
And who decided black and white can't be colors? I want to say a racist. I really do.
