It used to be useful. I have strong doubts it's still significant and worth using though; it's become ingrained in culture however, gods help you if you try to change.

Yea, because getting a more accurate temperature reading is so overrated.
Actually, it doesn't matter which system you use, it's still the same temperature regardless if you make it into C or F or K.
