Few issues with this (and no I'm not finished with the video):
1. cores doesn't really mean anything, same with clockspeeds (by themselves) it's really all about the benchmarks.
2. I'd go with a workstation mobo over a server mobo, could easily find a chassis to fit, would hold the video card properly, etc.
3. there's an idc10 header on that board, so you could have more usb ports if you utilized it.
4. can just go to servermonkey.com and buy an old workstation (they have them with/without cpu/ram), throw a half decent video card in it and a ssd and save yourself a whole lot of trouble.
5. sawing a card is HELP I AM TRAPPED IN 2006 PLEASE SEND A TIME MACHINE.
