You use glamour prisms to change the look
You have grade 1-5 and which you have to use depends on the item level of the item you want to show. If it's ilvl 61-80 then you need a grade 4, 81+ is grade 5 etc and each craft can make grade 1-5. Which you need depends on which craft is required to repair the item, you might need Grade 5 (Armorcraft) for example. You then select glamour and the item you want and then it changes that item's look into the new item until you dispel it or glamour over it.
