I gotta stop watching these videos... They always make me want to start looking for local blacksmiths. ._.;
Need to stop reading the comments, so much stupid lol. "Now I'm no expert but he didn't make it the right way" or if it's a katana "he didn't use tamahagane so it's inferior to a real one"

Even though tamahagane isn't as good lol.
I tell myself the same thing. Then I'm reading comment on the next video. ._.

I'm glad I'm one of the few people who controls himself by almost never reading the comments on any video. \o/
Then they start commenting on the folds and how they should be folding it like hundreds of times when the Japanese swordsmiths would fold a sword maybe 8 times lol
84 in swords aren't impractical, that's a fairly standard Zweihander length. They definitely didn't wobble much more than a typical sword would. Most European swords had a fair amount of flexibility though.

Not to mention folding modern steel is stupid., Blades were folded back then to remove slag and to distribute the carbon better. Folding too much would undo the carbon distribution. And doing it to modern steel would decrease the quality of the steel you started with. :|

Ah, yeah. The original Man at Arms stuff seemed rushed as hell. The reforged series seems a lot more detail and quality oriented.
Didn't know you were talking about the Masamune episode. The issue is most likely that they treated it like a western sword instead of a katana. Katana's are stupidly stiff blades due to the extent of edge hardening they do. They're not meant to bend at all.
weeaboo scum dreaming of musashi miyamoto cutting through their dads truck on the way to middle school and carrying them to their spirit-homeland of nippon to eat a bowl of REAL ramen (not like this stupid crap my mom buys me... ugh.. i cant WAIT to go to japan when i turn 18.. ^_________________________________________________________________________________________^)
I wish I had a cnc lathe to use at work :<
Here's a gif of one of the machines I use running though!
Wish it was as neat as the lathe but this machine cuts very slow for maximum accuracy +/- .00005" if I need it :3
Also, first time ever making a gif from videos I've recorded. Never used video compression software before, is it normal for it to 100% cpu? lol
Man I was a terrible shitbird at 9-12 thank god I didn't have the Internet like you kojo lol
No one tells you that you can't...finish until your older. So I'd have moron exploratory sex for fun with whichever other 8-12 year old boys or girls that are over at the time and think "I need to see my doctor, something's not working or broken" etc lol
This is a thread that I found on another website I post at. It can be really really interesting. I thought it deserved a place here.
Post your random thoughts for the day here, or anything else that intrigues you.
For starters, is it possible to give constructive critism to someone who doesn't have a neck? I totally just walked by a girl who didn't. Someone isn't getting a necklace for Valentines day!
And who decided black and white can't be colors? I want to say a racist. I really do.
