My dog sleeps in our bed with us, so storms and stuff don't really scare her. It just seems like the louder it is outside, the higher up she snuggles. Dead quiet out, she'll sleep on our feet. Windy, she's up to our knees. Rainy, she'll be about at our waists. Storming hard and her nose will by in my armpit. xD

Might want to consider getting them checked out if they do it again or start going in other random places you use often. It's generally their way of telling you something is wrong... Though it could just be them testing the borders of what they can get away with because cats are like that XD

It's their way of being ***. Trust me, I know my cats lol. Pretty much so my husband's job is the litter box and he hasn't been staying on top of them. Cat says "hey ***".

Most domestic animals tend to freak out over storms and loud noises. Ignoring them is the worst thing you can do. They make noise because they are in distress and need comforting.

Talking of cats, I was staying over at a friends place and she has got this little kitten, so I get up to go to the bathroom in the night and out of nowhere it spawns and attacks my leg... pee goes everywhere.
