Like with relics, they're easy to make (takes a couple hours tops if you have a group capable of doing Titan) and then you never get anything else, you just +1 what you have. It just means that eventually everyone will just make a relic and then what's the point in designing new weapons if they're just gonna make the relics the best (or almost best/basically equal to other gear, like Allagan weapons)? Getting Allagan weapons takes a lot longer than making a relic, even a +1 if you're unlucky.
This only really applies if you only play one job though since +1ing relics is limited by the mythos cap and I think it's safe to say that any future enhancements will be similarly impaired. Personally I like the idea that you have a sort of trademark weapon for one or 2 main jobs and then the others you need to look to other sources.
If you do coil you can spend your mythology on +1s. You're not forced to spend it on relic armor. This of course depends on your groups luck with drops but it's not inconceivable that a job might be capped on Allagan gear in a few weeks.

The stat points are almost identical, getting a +1 would be a bigger increase, mostly since weapons don't seem as common as the gear.
I completely spaced out on the Allagan rot rotation today. It's a nice feeling to know that you single-handedly wasted an entire group effort.
I have a tendency to space out and end up holding ADS till 5 stacks of damage taken + >.> Which makes extra problems since our war has usually blown provoke by then to take it off me at 3 stacks so I have it for a little while longer after noticing.
I don't understand why they haven't added something into DF that requeues you with your current group, that'd be sweet. Met some cool cats that I'd love to play with again but couldn't, unless I get super lucky.

I really wish they'd add this too, it would be especially nice for DDs to be able to requeue with the group since they can basically just do 1 run > wait 40 min > 1 run > wait 40 min.
Given the nature of how an instance works, it'd be hard to implement it.
What it could do at least is restart their current instance(hopefully without bugs), so it doesn't take up another one, or prevent leaving the current one.
