Mondays! xD
Well first I found out that we did fine on our audit. Yay! Then they told me that the auditor didn't check on SOPs. What the what? What is the point of having our procedures checked on if they don't check on our procedures? O.o o.O Oh well?
Then! Ok, so we had a problem with our boards failing because our transistor wasn't quite up to snuff. The transistor had to be cut off the board, the pad cleaned, then a new transistor placed on. I'm the surface mount girl, so that's my job. I love surface mounting. ^^ It's the most relaxed job ever. No really, it's so calming.
ANYWAYS. So I fix all the C's, then move on to fixing the D's. Our C's would be sent to us with the correct transistor from then on. Well, we got a few more orders of D's in before I was done with the fix, so when I finished the old order I checked to see if the new orders needed the fix. Why yes, yes they do! (YIPPEE! More fun for me. :D)
But while we were checking them, we happened to glance at a pile of C's... that had the wrong part! But but but !!! So we broke into all the boxes of C's, and luckily it was just the one box that our supplier sent with the wrong part. Not so luckily, it was the one box that we'd already used most of and sent out, so it's not fixable. MEEP.
So it took a couple hours and a lot of cranky bosses to figure out what went wrong and how much stuff was affected and nobody was super happy about it (except me, because I so love surface mounting so every time they found a bad C board it was yay for me. Oops. xD)
Speaking of bosses, the two main ones are gone. One is on vacation to some B-starting place. Bermuda? Bahamas? Bora-Bora? Something like that. The other is at a trade show, hopefully NOT with C boards containing a wrong transistor. Anyways, the point is, we're relatively unsupervised, so no one is listening to anyone else.
SO. When the downstairs assembly boss told the powder coating boss that he needed two certain buttons NOT powder coated for an urgent order, the powder coating boss promptly ignored him and powder coated all of the buttons. That made the assembly boss mad at her, and she was mad at him for being mad at her, and the machining boss was mad at both of them because now there's a rush to make that button but they weren't supposed to be on the list again til Friday.
Then the upstairs assembly boss got mad at me because they wanted a certain SOP but I only had time to make one SOP and I made the other one because nobody told me they wanted THAT one first. Sorry dude, I'll be on the SOPs tomorrow! Honest I will!
In other words, today was kind of awesome for me and every single other person in the building was mad. It looked something like this from my angle:
