So gonna fail this English course. Who thinks about this crap after high school? I mean seriously. I'm not even an English major.
I have this large-ish paragraph and the instructions are:
Identify each of the following parts of speech that reflect the words in bold below. Identify them as being a noun, verb, adverb, adjective, infinitive, pronoun, preposition, interjection, coordinating conjunction, or subordinating conjunction.
Childhood obesity (1_______) is at an all-time high. In fact, the National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion (2010) reports (2_______), “The prevalence of obesity among children aged 6 to 11 years increased from 6.5% in 1980 to 19.6% in 2008.” Yikes! (3_______) Such a percentage is (4_______) disheartening, for (5_______) with such a high rate comes the eventual possibility of life-threatening diseases, such as diabetes, high blood pressure, and heart disease. Because (6_______) of the dangers of these diseases, measures should be taken to address this problem. Too often parents and schools alike are unaware of the harmful (7_______) effects of serving processed foods that tend to be (8_______) high in (9_______) fat and sodium content, and (10_______) they settle for serving such food out of convenience, ignorance, or expense. We know that at (11_______) times fresh food can be expensive. Overall, strongly (12_______) expressing a desire to (13_______) school boards for nutritious lunches and wisely purchasing healthier foods and encouraging moderate consumption of foods is an excellent approach for most parents to take. To make (14_______) such changes will lead to healthier futures for our (15_______) youth. They are worth it!
I know this is supposed to be simple, I guess, but jesus. I haven't thought about this stuff for almost 12 years.
