Quote: Anders is a name in Scandinavian languages and Fering North Frisian, the equivalent of the Greek Andreas ("manly") and the English Andrew.
In Sweden, Anders has been one of the most common names for many centuries. According to Statistics Sweden, as of December 31, 2002, it ranks 4th among the male names. The great frequency of this name at the point in time (around 1900) when patronymics were converted into family names is the reason why 1 out of every 30 Swedes today are called Andersson.
The name day of Anders in the Scandinavian calendar is November 30, and in the old peasant superstition that day was important for determining what the Christmas weather would be. If it was very cold on November 30, there would be much sleet on Christmas (and vice versa).

I looked it up out of curiosity since Heado mentioned it. The baby naming sites say it means "man" and "warrior". Is that accurate?
Also, technically, my German grandfather is a *** too. He was also orphaned when he was really young. I still love him though. What's wrong with being a ***?

This is what the Swedish wiki page says (google translated though)
Quote: Anders is a Nordic, preferably Swedish male name. The name is a form of Andreas, which in turn is a nickname for many names beginning with Andro, which means 'man' (as in human) or 'man'. [1]
The shape Anders is the earliest known from 1378 and soon became a very common name in the Swedish peasant society. By the mid 1900s, the name became a fashion names and is today one of the most common names in Sweden. [2] However, the popularity has fallen slightly in recent decades.

I haven't seen anyone pick up the femme Galka. I've seen a few running around, judging by the bust size they may have all been men though.

Quote: Tyler is an English (old English) word which means door keeper of an inn. It is also thought to be a derived occupational name derived from “tiler”, one who makes tiles. It is used both as a surname, and as given name for both genders.[2] Among the earliest recorded use of the surname is from the 14th century; Wat Tyler of Kent, South East England.

Drac's name is Daniel.
Lol, listening to my sister talk about my niece's clothes.
Her:"She needs to change, she looks like a hooker. Who dressed her?"
Her husband: "She dressed herself. Reminds me of her mom."

I wasn't big on what my parents called me so I've gone by Ted for as long as I can remember. I don't have a single memory of anyone calling me by my legal name outside of wanting to bug me XD
This is a thread that I found on another website I post at. It can be really really interesting. I thought it deserved a place here.
Post your random thoughts for the day here, or anything else that intrigues you.
For starters, is it possible to give constructive critism to someone who doesn't have a neck? I totally just walked by a girl who didn't. Someone isn't getting a necklace for Valentines day!
And who decided black and white can't be colors? I want to say a racist. I really do.
