Vita is currently meh. It's my portable nostalgia machine with Netflix. Go with a 3DS. Fire Emblem: Awakening is worth the purchase alone imo. I wouldn't bother with Monster Hunter though, personally, unless you're never getting a WiiU.

I take it a handheld is not a practical platform for Monster Hunter?
And yeah, definitely thinking 3DS. Although it is difficult to ignore that having a good chunk of PSone classics for download and portable use is very appealing.
Not to mention there were a fair share of PSP titles for download that are quite good. Dissidia, Jenne d'Arc, etc.

Save the money and save up for a PS4 and some games instead? Lots of good stuff coming out

The game is just better on WiiU I think. Also, the camera isn't easy to manipulate without a second stick for the 3DS.

What is prefered by the person depends purely on his personality and what you should do is what your personality allows you to do. There is no correct reaction for everyone but your intuition is normally the right thing to do for you. So no worries there.

This story sounds like an one-sided version, if the woman is not overreacting by a huge degree I'ld say there happened something before that which build up a distrust. As a stranger to the woman you can do nothing to fix the problem. If you would be a man I could advice you to show some sympathy to lower his depression a bit, but since you're a woman I suggest not getting involved with him much. Instable minds, like his one Sounds, tend to create simplyfied images of person of the opposit gender who help them in a Big Crisis. It doesn't help him and might create trouble for you. If someone helps it must be a good friend of the pair or a professional.

OMG WTF!

Monster hunter used to be on the PSP for a while. It was a very good hand held and i spent hours playing it with friends. That said, the camera and screen just looks scrunched together and i would only suggest MH3U for 3DS if you had the Wii U and could play on that when you are not traveling. That or some friends around that played it as well. That aside, i have both the PSP and the 3DS and i have spent many an hour on both.

PSP: Disgaea 1/2, Dissidea, Megaman X remake, Final Fantasy Tactics

3DS: Pokemon games (It's backwards for DS), Golden Sun, Fire Emblem, Megaman Zero

Both have their good titles so i would just go for the one that is most comfortable for you
