I only half-assed it in like my Sophomore year, and that was 12 years ago.

Hey, what's up man? I haven't seen you in like a week or so. I think. My mind isn't what it used to be.

It has been awhile lol. Been busy with work, the gf and I moved in together recently, oh and we picked up a cute as hell puppy.



How've you been?

Oh that's awesome. One step closer to the big M. Maaaaaaybe?

I've mostly been tied up with classes, and after tomorrow I'll be finished until summer school, which luckily is all online so I don't have to leave this delightful air conditioning. And of course I'll be spending much of my time this summer reading up for the full year of student teaching I'm going to be doing coming up here. It's interesting to see that after all that next year, I theoretically will have my degree and fingers crossed, a career. One step at a time, y'know?

At any rate, it's great to see that you're taking these steps. How are things jelling, thus far?

Pretty great so far. Though I haven't been able to stay up as late as I used to since the light keeps her up. Posting from the porch atm xD.


Sidenote how has the weather been there? It's been insane here one day it's super cold the next day I'm sweating.

Well, it wasn't so much me picking it as they picked me. Sorta. I'm part of this pilot program they've introduced for myself and a number of my cohorts at the beginning of the year where instead of doing the typical student teaching for one semester, we've opted to do a full year of it. This unfortunately means that we'll only have teaching in the morning, then in the afternoon, depending on what day it is, I'll either have a class at the school I'm working at, or I have to whisk myself over to the Tempe ASU campus. It'll be strange, but I'm looking forward to it. This is way better than doing another semester stuck in class and internship. But my IMT (intern mentor teacher) is pretty awesome, and I'm going to be working exclusively with Sophomore Honors students. We're doing not just one, but TWO Shakespeare plays, a piece of prose by one of the Bronte sisters, some Romantic poetry (including Shelley's Ozymandias, one of my favorites) and Of Mice and Men. Also, she insists on not teaching the five paragraph essay for her students and instead focuses on the content, not the format. So this upcoming year is going to be awesome. My co-student teacher though is kind of a tight-***, so we'll see how this goes.

Womp womp! That's one issues I had with my girlfriends. Every single one of them needed a tv or some sort of noise and light to fall asleep, and I prefer it pitch black and silent. Because I am who I am, I spent many sleepless nights watching various movies and tv shows. The worst was when my latest ex made me watch Sex and the City Part 2. That... I still have nightmares about that. Ah, the sacrifices we make.

Hey, but on the plus side, the point is in the morning, when you wake up, she'll be right there with you. That's one of the best feelings in the world.
