Mom stories! My turn to ***. Mine thinks 25 is plenty old enough to give her a grandchild. I hear about it every time we talk. Eff that!

Also, my brother, his wife, and their new baby (~2 months old) were going to fly to New Mexico to see my dad and stepmother. But then my brother decided the baby wasn't ready to fly, so they were going to fly my folks back east to see them instead. My stepmother threw a fit about having to go (too much trouble to pack a bag and get on a plane? Even when my brother is paying for it? lol) so long story short, my dad said fine, she can stay home. So he's flying back east this weekend and she's sitting on her butt alone at home. Serves her right!

(This is the same stepmother, mind you, that refused to go to my brother's commencement ceremony as well as his wedding. She can't admit that she just doesn't like him, so she comes up with the stupidest excuses imaginable to skip most of his life and important events. She also refused to go to my sister's wedding or even speak to my sister until said sis supplied stepmommydearest with a grandchild.)
Okay, well mine demanded to be in the delivery room during my son's birth, when we didn't greet that idea with open arms (What woman wants her mother in law face to face with her girly parts?) she started turning emo and saying "well fine, I guess I just won't have anything to do with him then.." When we were temporarily homeless due to hurricane and she picked us up, and let us stay with her (she had power, we didn't, and power wasn't coming anytime soon) she made us spend every dime we had, and our food stamps (which is expressly forbidden) to fill her fridge... Anytime EITHER of my brother's had done ANYTHING she didn't like, she'd call me up, drunk as ***, bitching at me like I'm somehow supposed to 'make them behave'..

I think it was only because I put up with it for so long (yeeeeeeears...) out of respect.. But I told her off eventually, and she stopped (it started something like "Look, ***, I'm tired of you calling me up all the damned time becuase you got drunk and you have a problem with something they did, you have a problem with them, then tell THEM, I've put up with this ***for years, and I'm *** sick of it.." She would literally call me up on a weekly or bi-weekly basis and *** at me for hooooours.. But the conversation never changed, everything she had to say, could be said in the first 10 minutes, literally.. She'd just keep repeating herself..

Oh let's not forget how she's now pissed off at me saying I 'need to grow up and be an adult'.. She had 3 kids, she pretty much abandoned all of us from the start.. Had me when she was 15, had the next a year later, then another 3 years later.. She abandoned me because she wanted to go out and party and she didn't want to deal with the responsibility..

My son is 6 1/2 and I still haven't abandoned him.. I doubt I'll ever be nominated best dad ever by parents or by him.. I don't put up with ***, I tell him to do something, I expect him to do it, and he knows I mean it... But I'm also lenient in some areas where other parents (mothers mostly) would gasp.. But goddamnit I'm still in his life, even before I was even married, much less had a baby on the way I'd already made the promise to myself I wouldn't just abandon him, I would be there in his life daily whether or not it's the type of attention he'd want growing up..

The nerve of this woman.. Where the *** does she get off telling me I need to grow up.

I really don't want anyone except the doctors, nurses, and my husband in the delivery room if I ever have a kid. (IF.) It's not a pretty sight and it's creepy that anyone should want to watch! Weirdos, lol. What's even creepier is the people who record it on video camera. D: No kid wants to see that when they grow up. Ever.

Where we were, you're allowed 2 people of your choice in the room.. I'm the obvious first choice (how else is she going to yell obscenities at me and tell me she hates me for doing this to her) She wanted the other to be her sister, at least she would have been supportive and not drunk off her ***.. But nope, she got my mom.. Even I didn't want her in there..

Nope, I don't like kids, don't want kids, and will never have kids.

This is fine because both my sister and my brother want kids, as well as a bunch of my friends. I'll be the cool aunt or something.

EVERYONE who says that, ends up having kids.. Do yourself a favor and don't say it.. My wife said the same thing all her life..

It's like getting a tattoo of someone else's name, you're basically signing your destiny, they get a tattoo of someone's name, relationship ends, you say you WON'T have kids, and you will..

lol ok last story i'm linking.Recession hitting the tooth fairy.

Melissa Hourigan of Denver didn't know what to do for her 9-year-old when the Tooth Fairy failed to show, the Denver Post reports. Instead, she and her husband purchased a target card for their daughter "because we felt bad and wanted to do something," Hourigan said.

wtf?

Well, I think it's just because they're sooo tiny and delicate. I just get nervous.

EDIT: The little stump of an umbilical cord weirds me out too. I don't know why.

They really are terrifying. They smell funny, they scream, they cry, they scrunch up their noses and shriek and you have no idea how to fix them. They barf, they pull the dog's tail, they keep you up all night. Then, right when you think you'll have to chug a fifth of vodka just to make it, they smile at you and it completely disarms you. Then you realize they only smiled because they have recently made a large and stinky mess in their diaper. D:

Then they grow up, and that's even worse!
