You know, these days it's so weird to see video games and DVD box sets at the library.
I think some of the games were donations or minor investments for kids.
But they did have Red Dead Redemption and Dead Island.
I reserved the first book of Game of Thrones. I am interested in reading the first book and then watch the episodes. Who reads books?

Guy Montag was the one hoarding the books, IIRC.

Ha, Fahrenheit 451 reference. Classic! I suppose "library" can refer to a collection of media of any sort, but... I dunno, sometimes I feel strange seeing movies in with the books. But, I'm one to talk. I haven't read recreationally in months.
Ever read House of Leaves Mag? (or anyone) I haven't, but with an avatar like that, I'm guessing you have. Is this another book I should put on my list of things to read?

Romantic poetry, Shakespeare and Nabokov! And they can kill me before I let them burn 'em! Also, I agree with the remake. With the technology we have now, the robot dogs would totally kick ***. Let's just not have Michael Bay have anything to do with it, please and thank you.

Avatar unrelated but yeah I read it once a few years ago and it was really thought-provoking and engrossing. Has a pretty interesting style and it's pretty impressive that it was the author's first novel. I recommend it, but might not be for you. It's mostly a fantasy story I guess but it's hard to precisely categorize

Wikipedia said: House of Leaves is the debut novel by the American author Mark Z. Danielewski, published by Pantheon Books. The novel quickly became a bestseller following its release on March 7, 2000. It was followed by a companion piece, The Whalestoe Letters. The novel has since been translated into a number of languages.
The format and structure of the novel is unconventional, with unusual page layout and style, making it ergodic literature. It contains copious footnotes, many of which contain footnotes themselves, and some of which reference books that do not exist.[1] Some pages contain only a few words or lines of text, arranged in strange ways to mirror the events in the story, often creating both an agoraphobic and a claustrophobic effect. The novel is also distinctive for its multiple narrators, who interact with each other throughout the story in disorienting and elaborate ways.
While some have attempted to describe the book as a horror story, many readers as well as the author would define the book as a love story. Danielewski expands on this point in an interview: "I had one woman come up to me in a bookstore and say, 'You know, everyone told me it was a horror book, but when I finished it, I realized that it was a love story.' And she's absolutely right. In some ways, genre is a marketing tool."[2]
I'm reading this.

You know with North Korea or China trying to sensor the web in their country, they could do something like people got a hold of a iPad or tablet and learn the truth of the world.
'Fahrenheit 451' could reference a virus or something to lock out free or world information. If they could also rewrite it to be suspenseful like 'The Departed', it would be a good film. So you want it to be more of a devotion to the book and less of a recreation? I could see that. I would like to see a literal interpretation, though.

The footnotes are the best part imo. Very detailed and add a really cryptic feeling, as if you're actually reading some journal-manuscript thingy
edit: would recommend getting the edition with all the differently colored/styled texts as it makes following who is narrating much easier. also few neat diagrams in it.

I've always wanted to read Logan's Run. Wasn't the movie The Island based on that?

This is a thread that I found on another website I post at. It can be really really interesting. I thought it deserved a place here.
Post your random thoughts for the day here, or anything else that intrigues you.
For starters, is it possible to give constructive critism to someone who doesn't have a neck? I totally just walked by a girl who didn't. Someone isn't getting a necklace for Valentines day!
And who decided black and white can't be colors? I want to say a racist. I really do.
