I believe in your sweet rolls!
Nice to hear you're almost done with the semester. ^.^ Still interning as well, right? How's that going?
Actually, it's taken an interesting turn. I got this email from one of the people I met with a couple weeks ago to discuss the ASU Writing Center program that I'm a part of:
Quote:
As I mentioned a couple of weeks ago, we’ve been making progress with establishing new Writing Centers at three high schools for the new school year. It seems like a good idea to have everyone get together to meet each other, go over details and discuss questions. If possible, it would be great if you and 2 or 3 of the ASU tutors working at Metro Tech could be part of the discussion. The English instructional leaders and instructional assistant principals from the three schools will be at this meeting. [Person], the District Language Arts Coordinator, and [your professor] plan to attend as well.
Needless to say, this is an amazing networking opportunity for me. Not only would I be speaking to every head of the English Department for the Phoenix Union High Schools, but also the English district head. So... I'm pretty excited about that. If I can get in with them, my future might be made in the shade. As to the program itself, I've had a few rocky moments, but I've gained my footing and after dealing with a certain teacher whose assignment sheets are convoluted and ambiguous at best, I feel more than confident to finish strong. So, once I finish a few Signature Assignments, looks like everything's set for me to do my year-long student teaching. And, in about 1 year from now, you'll be talking to a certified English teacher, which makes me happier than a bulldog with skis.
