When I say stay weak, I'm talking about laying off upgrading your weapons and enjoy the experience of struggling. :<
When I think of Dark Souls, I think of a lonely knight walking through a fortress with his shield up unaware of what's around the corner. He has the same long sword, shield, and beat up armor that he's always used. I don't even imagine the knight having an estus flask. He has his 1 health bar and if it's depleted then it's Game Over.
As he explores the fortress, he is overwhelmed by dreglings, soldiers, and knights that attack him rushing at him with no fear of death. As he blocks their attacks he looks into their eyes, some of them glowing with a burning passion to kill him.
As he makes it through the fortress, defeating the enemies that challenge his life, he comes across a strange room with a lit bonfire. He rests, recovering some of his sanity and bringing warmth to his skin empowering him with hope. Also in the room is a strange doorway filled with fog. As he stands up and investigates it, he walks through looking to see what's behind the doorway.
It's a dark room, with no lit candles or any light source to help him make out his surroundings. Overwhelmed with the fear of the unknown, he goes back to the bonfire room only to find that he can't pass through the fog. Now stuck and panicking, he hears a low growl in the back of the room. Foot steps walking towards him, ever so slowly. He can see the eyes of the enemy creeping towards him, looking at him with the burning desire to kill.
Scared for his life, he lifts his shield. The unknown enemy charges at him, screaming, leaping towards him. Thinking to himself that he might die here, he thrusts his sword closing his eyes, shaking, only to feel the weight of his enemy crushing against his body. Thinking that he is certainly dying, he lays there motionless with all hope lost. The fog in the room disappears, and light returns to the room once more only to find that his enemy, a single undead dog, is laying on his body, defeated by the knights own sword, only because he made a rash decision of attacking something he couldn't see.
Getting up and gathering himself, he has two paths: to stay behind at the safety of the bonfire, or to move on in hopes that he may soon find a way out of this hell.
