Ya mean they are too overly flashy and don't focus on story? That's more the developer's laziness as opposed to technologies advances though. Some companies do wonderful things with newer technologies, as they come out. My buddy had this same argument in XI with me the other day lol. Though if this not what you implied, sorry :P.

I hate constantly using this example, but look at Heavy Rain. STUNNING visuals, and had a really great story with very interesting ideas and twists.
