So what you people think? Is this worth getting and using for evisceration for thf? Sure you'd lose whatever tp you get from the ws when you switch back to raiders but that wont be all that much

You should think more about the damage bonus from using the tathlum while stacking SA/TA with your WS. The damage bonus from using tathlum with SA/TA alone is significant.

Can't really, you'd lose tp before your ws would go off

Actually you wont. You lose tp when putting something on in the ranged slot not the ammo or taking something off. You wont lose tp till after you go back to the boomerang

And yes that was exactly what I meant.

I thought you could un-equip a ranged slot without losing tp. Just can't equip it.

I could be wrong though.

i knew you can switch ammo without losing tp (like rngs)

but i thought you lose tp when you take ranged on and off like mainhaind/offhand weapons. This is rather intresting to know

mmm maybe then, depends how much tp you'd be losing, as in would it take you another attack round to get to 100%, or if the boost is significant enough on your weaponskill to even switch it out.

You don't lose TP when you change an ammo slot, but if you change a ranged slot you lose TP, which includes removing a weapon from ranged slot.

Negative in my opinion. If you get a ~13TP return, that's roughly 2-3 hits from your next WS which is a fairly significant difference.

No it's only changing ranged slot. Do you really think I'd ask without knowing it would work? I've done it alot of times. People do that ***on pup fairly often

Seconding this. 5%? critdmg is a 3.5% increase in damage for your critical hits (correct me if I'm wrong - RR, t2 critdmg trait, Loki's), but you're reducing your WS frequency by a much greater margin.

Still not worth it imo, that's over 10% of the TP to WS and more if some hits sneak in before you swap back.

It's worth full timing in Abyssea because 75%+ of your attacks should be critical hits. Comes out to a bit under 5% increase in overall damage. Raider's boomerang will increase your dot by a bit over 3%. Also, Raider's boomerang does next to nothing for WSs while the crit ammo will do a lot for evis.

edit: Alright alright, this post was a bit hastey. I'd have to sit down and do the math for exact numbers.

edit: Errr....I scribbled some numbers down. Didn't really put much thought into it before, maybe I'll reconsider using the crit ammo full time, or at all. Moar number scribbling is necessary.

edit yet again!: I was one of the first people to get their hands on the tathlum on my server. I don't have the numbers anymore, but when testing it, both my max and min increase was about 5%-ish.

Your math is a bit off. Wiki has it at 3-4% increase to crit dmg. I use RR for 30% and a dagger with +4 and T2 trait for another 8% so even at 4% it will only increase my crit dmg by 2.8% on the crits. Even at 75% which is what I'm at about 2.1% increase in overall dmg. Yeah I'm ignoring attack but that's too much effort to even try and math out

Raiders does help ws in that it increases ws frequency

Testing critdmg+ when you're unable to use /ra is a bit of a pain, so it's possible it could be 5%. I remember seeing a post to that effect not too long ago.

DW eats TP. A THF using two 201 delay daggers goes from a 20 hit to 100% to a 21 hit just adding Raider's. Also, 16% Eviscerations would go to 15%. Not game breaking, I know, but WS frequency was mentioned. Lastly, if /ra is a concern, carry darts.

Yes DW lowers tp per hit. But it generally increase attack speed more having an overall increase in tp/sec.

Also if you are using 2 201 delay daggers and /nin suppa your tp per hit should be the same with and without it.

While DW is on topic..

At what point does DW out parse Haste?

ATM I have Auric Dagger, Suppa, and Mirke with DW and acc bonus.

Or I could gear Haste/Trip attack: Rapparee harness, Raider's earring.

Which would be a more optimal TP setup of gear?

Thanks for input in advance.
:: not the best gear so please no advice on what I "SHOULD" have. Just asking which is better of what I "DO" have.

Depends on your base DW and haste values.

THF/NIN:

Mirke +3 DW
Auric 5% DW
Suppa 5% DW
Overall:18% haste from this TP setup
VS:
Rapp harness 4% haste
Raider's earring 1% Trip attack
Overall:22% haste from this TP setup

Full merits in Trip and love torque to cap out dagger skill.
So is 4% haste over (13%) DW better ? Or vice Versa?

but when you re-equip the raiders boomerang after evisceration, you will then lose the TP you gained from the WS no? I'd just full time it myself, then again im no thf.
