I just want to make sure that I'm the only one in this thread who thinks the elemental belts from Abyssea are okay to use....

I am seeing alot of this so here's a question, Epona's beats 2nd Stormsoul for blade hi? Also how do I post a ws set up like you guys post it?
I'd like to add to Jakarai's question, what about Altdorf's and Wilhelm's earrings? The ones with +8 agi together. Use? or stick with Moonshade (+25tp/atk+4) and Brutal?
I'm also a bit of a loss as to what to use for back, waist and neck. I don't have a Hope torque, I'm using Soil belt right now, and using Iga neck and back until I can figure out something more appropriate. I am seeing that Using full 5/5 Thaumas will out preform Athos Body. Getting 5200 with Athos and 5300 with Thaumas. Has anyone tested this? I do not have either piece, but am working to get them some day. and would love to know. Oh' the updated spread sheet I have does not add for bonuses in sets. so you will have to manually add the +15 Dex Str and Agi to your WS stats to get correct result if your sheet is same as mine.

Stick with ze Moonshade / Brutal combo I just stuck Shade/Brutal vs Alt/Wil earrings, saying the alt/wil wins I am using the Sheet linked from this forum...Is it not a good one? Rancorous Mantle+Nefarious Collar alright to do until I get a Hope Torque? Currently using Atheling/Rancor Neck.
Ah this is so confusing to me. I don't understand how brutal helps any weapon skill at all, but I do use the +8 agi earrings for blade hi(got to get some use out of them) only cause I got them for my rng which I have pretty much retired since abyssea arrived.
5% of the time, the Brutal earring double attacks in your weaponskill everytime.

My new favorite mobs for testing Blade: Hi armor sets are Bog Body in Abyssea - Tahrongi. They have a grip of HP and take double damage!
Iga Tekko +2 just slightly out-performed Seiryu's Kote (12528 vs 12350) with Berserk, Warcry, Aggressor, Razed Ruins, Gnarled Horn, and Sanguine Scythe after an hour of testing spike damage for each. They shouldn't inside of abyssea, the extra dex does nothing. Do your Kote have terrible augments like -5 agi?
HAHA no negative augment on Seiryu' Kote. Most likely it was just a matter of duration of testing for spike damage. Some afternoon while watching TV I will test with Seiryu's Kote longer to see if I can top 12528.

5 less Agi somehow made him do 180 more damage. Makes total sense.
The fact that he is useing single spike damage not average should explain everything.

Kote have 5 more AGI than Iga Tekko +2 and unless there's some kind of hidden effect we don't know about (There isn't) it's impossible for it to be doing more damage over time. You can't expect everyone to understand the mere CONCEPT of the damage formula. Ever. :(
The only way I could see Iga outperforming seiryu is outside Abby when looking at acc issues and dex crit rate. I'm not sure what the math shows but there could be something there. But I'm guessing most people are like me and nin is 99% for inside.
Oh yeah, Iga +2 has been suggested for outside before (there's actually quite a few situations where that 10 DEX will make it outperform Seiryu's), but since he's looking for damage spikes the only stat that really matters is AGI (and I guess maybe Quad attack since there's no atma for that). Crit rate just contributes to the WS being more consistent.
Critical hit rate augments are assumed on Seiryu's kote, so not sure how Iga Tekko +2 will beat them out.
Also some people magically get +5 AGI on their kotes. <_< well in the range of 40-50 ddex it could mean 10% critrate
Oops, I totally forgot about 40-50 ddex!
SE trolled some the NINs with AGI based critws and DEX based noncritws.
Personally im using (and i guess sadly most of us except vw proc) my NIN on fodder and DC dyna, Motenten spreadsheet shows oce+1/iga+2 bdy/byakko/koga+2 feet has more than enough ddex so can use seiryu instead. Yeah sheet maybe wrong here and there, but would think is close enough. |
