How annoying.
I just had a dragon chicken out on me. Got it down to about a third of it's life then it just takes off at super fast speed.
I just spam Dragonrend shout to avoid that. I'm Aragonian so I can just pop Histskin and zerg it.
The annoying part more than anything was it never touched down. It constantly flew around and did drive by breath attacks. Was hard landing a spell accurately on it, and when I managed to get some good direct hits, it pussies out on me.

Oh, well yeah that's dumb.
btw anyone have an answer for my question from before? About that imperial solider following me around in Whiterun ever since I fast traveled from Windhelm. It's getting annoying while doing the Companions quests.
has anyone tried those summon able magic weapons in combat?
(spells that gives you a sword and stuff)
The sword is pretty decent, but I only really used bound sword to power level my conjuration up by spamming it with both hands while running from a giant.

try opening the console, click on the soldier and type kill, then resurrect, it usually resets them. or just leave him dead if not.
Anyone have any tips on where to get ahold of Ebony ore/ingots?
I've yet to find any in any mines, but the blacksmith in Whiterun stocks it.. If she doesn't have any or have enough, check inside, then you can just wait for 48 hours or so and she should stock more up.
shops only start selling it in mass quanities around level 40.
LocationsEdit
■ Blackreach, there are 2 ebony ores near the entrance.
■ Gloombound Mine, Southeast of Windhelm. There are enough veins in the mine to make a full set of armor, including upgrades at the workbench and a weapon. There are also several ebony ores/ingots laying around in and outside of the mine (In carts, on shelves around the Orc blacksmith, and so on).
■ Shore's Stone, 3 Ores can be found by the smelter.
■ Redbelly Mine, on the West side of Shor's Stone, North of Riften. 3 veins can be found at the bottom of the mine.
■ Throat of the World, the highest point in the game. There are 2 veins on the very top.
■ Mzulft, Southeast of Windhelm.
I remember someone asking if enemies in dungeons would respawn...well they do. Bleak Falls Barrow was my first dungeon which I did at level 1-3, somewhere in there. And I did the entire thing, got the dragon word before I was asked to, etc. And on the map it said completed.
Anyway, went back there today at level 24 and after about 40 hours playtime and all the enemies inside were there again, including the miniboss spider and the draugr lord by the words.
They were all pushovers so they obviously didnt level up but...there was a Frost Troll in there that definitely wasnt there the first time I came through there.

Wow, thanks so much. That Gloombound Mine is a Godsend, I recommend everyone check it out ASAP.
Grrrr Lydia randomly disappeared again. Not sure how she ended up back at the house last time >< I assume she is still alive somewhere as the extra bed in my house still says owned.
Also on the subject of Lydia I found this online XD
I deeply regret the incident that took place on Mordnas, 31st of Last Seed, 4E 201, when, during a heated and violent exchange between us and a group of fanatical werewolf hunters, I shot you in the *** with my bow.
I hope that you will understand that I did not intend to shoot even one of my one hundred and fifty rusty iron arrows in your buttocks. My intention was, in fact, to shoot that particular arrow in the eye or mouth of the werewolf hunter standing nearest to you. I do not wish to pass the blame onto the recently deceased, or upon the recently ***-shot, but I want you to understand that when I released the arrow in question, your *** was not in its path.
I do not mean to imply that your *** is large, or that it somehow grew in size while the arrow was flying through the air on its way to its intended target, I only mean to say that it’s possible that you moved or slipped your *** into the path of the arrow after I had let it go. I want to suggest this because after I shot you, you shouted at me to remind me that we are on the same side. But I did not forget. I would never forget that.
I would next like to apologize for shooting you in the *** again shortly after the first and aforementioned incident, and two more times after that. I did not learn my lesson the first time, so I had remained in a crouched position, which facilitated my filling your *** with additional unwanted arrows. Again you shouted at me, but I was lost in the heat of battle. I am sorry. After we handily dispatched the werewolf hunters, I attempted to examine your *** and treat it with first aid, but the arrows I had shot into your cheeks had, curiously, disappeared. I am not, however, accusing you of lying about my archery miscues. I was only trying to help.
Lydia, you are my first companion, and I am not yet fully accustomed to fighting alongside someone else, but I want to express how grateful I am for you, for your service in placing your body in front of the arrows and swords of my enemies, all of which you do because I bravely hid inside of a tower for fifteen minutes taking pot shots at a rampaging dragon, after which heroic deed you were sworn by your masters to serve me until your death.
I am grateful for your willingness to carry the trash I compulsively pick up at each locale we visit, even if each time I ask you to take something off my hands, you roll your eyes and sarcastically respond that “I am sworn to carry your burdens.” Let’s be honest, after all. You have taken many liberties with my equipment. I do, for instance, expect that enchanted dwarven armor washed and returned to me before we part ways.
Lydia, I am sorry I bought a horse. Or rather, I am sorry you hate my horse. She is much faster than you. She is much hardier than you. She can run up cliffs. You wear heavy armor, run slowly, have a strong aversion to rocks, elevated terrain of any kind, and logical pathfinding--to wit, I would specifically like to apologize for what happened on the evening of Middas, 2nd of Hearthfire, when I accidentally left you behind and alone at Hamvir’s Rest to fight four reanimated skeletons, a zombie, and three wolves. I felt impressed to make a quick escape because I heard the roar of a nearby dragon which I was unprepared to face.
I would also like to apologize for leaving you alone to fight a dragon.
Your loving thane,
Anders
P.S. I don't remember inviting you to live in my house.

Did you tell her to wait somewhere? When I was doing a burglary job I told her to wait outside the house, and went in and got the item, then went on about my buisness doing other quests, about an hour and a half later I realized Lydia wasn't around, then I remembered I had told her to wait somewhere but didn't tell her to follow me again.. I had no idea where I left her, so I just had to reload an earlier save file =/

Not this time, I did that before though. Apparently if you tell them to wait long enough after leaving them (assuming they don't get dragon'd) a message will pop up saying they got tired of waiting and left your service. I guess the first time she left this is what happened, the time when I had a rubber band doing the rejuvenation trick. This time though, I just loaded my save and she wasn't there.
Gunna try and find another guy who is always willing to work for me and see if I can recruit a new follower or not. If I can maybe it will reset Lydia to the house, I hope.
*EDIT* Yeah so that worked, I went and got Uthgred to come with me and when I walked into the house Lydia was there, up in my room sitting at a table (she was not there before I took on Uthgred). Vierd.
Just got smithing 100 today, dragon armor looks pretty cool. I couldn't help but finally looking at all the armor sets online (I forced myself not to peak). After doing that all I want to do now is just beat the game. I'm pretty disappointed there aren't any like hidden mystery item sets etc :(.
So I just killed a dragon, and his body is still there and I am getting no Souls... amidoinitwrong?
Quite a few of us have experienced this.. It seems to be more common with Blood Dragons from what I've seen other people report, but I've gotten it with just a regular "Dragon".. According to wiki the only dragon that lacks a soul is the Skeletal Dragon. (And interestingly enough according to wiki there is not just a plain "Dragon", although I'm 100% sure I fought one.)
EDIT: Looking around I found this.. Which proves there is just plain dragons.
The actual plain dragon is the one that refused to give me a soul. Silly, I suppose I don't mind, I have about 15 unused souls. My friends keep saying I am incredibly lucky with all the Dragons I find lol.
Lol, I tossed some armor on the ground that I didn't want and wasn't worth selling, and some random guy walks up and says "That armor you got rid of, I can have it, yeah?"
Bethesda Softworks just announced the fifth game in the Elder Scrolls series and the sequel to The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion will be called Skyrim. And it'll be out next year.
Bethesda's Todd Howard introduced the game with a brief teaser showing a stone dragon and a dramatic narration that sets up the story of the next big role-playing game in the Elder Scrolls series. That teaser also dates Skyrim for November 11, 2011.
I cannot bloody wait. I've always loved the Elder scrolls series since Daggerfall.
