Not sure if thats doing something for you, since there seems to be a damage reduction cap, and it seems anything over 700def(at least at the moment)seems to do nothing for you.
Funny thing is, both the rebels and imperials are ***.
Of course both sides are guilty of horrible things and their injustices and under the table deals and other things of that nature, so really it just depends on which side of the fence you decide to take. But I'm gonna go with the Imperials on my High Elf since that seems most fitting.
imperials vs. stormcloaks is really gray, and not black and white like most games.
they both have pros and cons, which makes it hard to choose.
also, i was kicked of the HDTV and so i decided to play some oblivion (i will NOT filthy my precious skyrim with... SD *grimace*) and wow its so incredibly different, i had to force myself to play the little bit i did, its just lame after experience skyrim.

so many many many many years after, they still cant resolve their issue and they fight it off like this?
actually, the civil war in skyrim hasnt been going on that long, it happened a little after the white-gold concordat, the great war was only 4 years (4E 171-4E 175) and the civil war started in 4E 201, the year the game starts
Part of the problem is I'm super biased because the Legion starts off with intentions to decapitate you. However, as Slip said, it's a rather common standing to be part of the "rebels" in games that involve a war or conflict of sorts; and there is appeal to being part of a mighty empire and seeing the more intricate details involved within. Not to mention that it does indeed share many similarities and backdrops as the Roman Empire did too. That alone makes it interesting enough to join. A shame the Empire is merely a puppet for the Thalmore now.
So I was reading up on some things, and here's something I wanna throw out to anyone who's interested in the deeper lore of the game.
Gonna say this now though, this is only for people who have completed the game. Otherwise, I'll spoil the whole game for you right now. Don't blame me if you read. ; ;
So, in this game, Dwemer ruins have Falmer roaming them, and I wasn't sure why, really, and then I read this.
"M'aiq knows why Falmer are blind. It has nothing to do with the Dwemer disappearing. Really."
Sure, he's called M'aiq the Liar, but he's been full of truths, and easter eggs as well as lies since Morrowind..
In one of the books the Orc in Winterhold College gives you states that readers of the scroll would be blinded by it.
The dwarves/dwemer learned how to read the Elder Scrolls without becoming blinded by them through technology, and the Elder Scroll was used to transport Alduin into the future, so perhaps the Dwarves never disappeared, and their technology never truly worked, but were transported through time, and blinded by the Scroll.
And overtime, or perhaps as a side effect of being transported, became feral/uncivilized.
Or maybe I'm just overthinking it. XD
Stuff like this gets me interested. <.>
See, after I did the war bit (joined the Imperials) and finished that arch, I fast traveled to Whiterun to go dump some gear into the box in my house, when that zone turns really laggie on me. I turn around and there's this imperial solider following me around...
Anyone have a clue as to how to get rid of this? So far all I've done to fix the problem was move out of Whiterun, but I need to do the companion quests still so that's going to suck with the lag.
I've been playing a stealth 2 dagger character. 15x sneak crit, ect. However when I have to go head to head with things I get demolished.. especially if a companion is with me and more then 2 targets are engaged.
So.. any special way to not suck at dagger combat? A lot of the time I have to abuse the AI with terrain and kill things with a bow.
Only thing I can think of is making good use of blade poisons and hit and run tactics.
Wish the blade poisons weren't single use though, it kinda breaks the immersion if you have to press Q every 4-5 seconds to apply a new poison to the blade. Would even be better if they just started off at full strength and wore off the blade over a period of 5-6 strikes or something, becoming less potent each time.

i ran into this issue and just switch to a sword or mace when not doing a back-stab or an assassination

Make sure you have your 1handed adequately skilled up as you level, make sure if your class is going to specialize in daggers, that you put perks into 1handed weapons to increase the damage of daggers(ie +20 40% 60% etc 1h damage %, dual-wielding increases etc).
Make sure your armor is up todate and fully upgraded when possible(having 100 smithing helps your upgrades more, adds more def/tiers)
Id say when you can see if you can enchant elemental/drain enchantments on them as daggers in most games do a lot of damage with added effects, however the charges wont last long so keep them replenished as much as possible, or just bring spares along for long quests/missions.
So I had a quick question about upgrading. I can make dragon gear then get it to legendary or whatever the highest is then add augments to it? Or do I need to do it before?
If you have the perk that lets you upgrade enchanted gear (it's the one in the center of the constellation) then upgrading first isn't necessary. Otherwise, yes you need to upgrade it first then add the enchantments.
Just found a new exploit, and a tip for anyone who didn't know, I didn't til I just tested.
Your Companion (at least Lydia, I don't know if it works the same for everyone) can equip a single arrow and it acts as an infinite source for her.. So she can do more damage with ranged attacks without you having to constantly replace her arrows.
Which also means if you want more of a certain type of arrow but can't seem to find it, all you have to do is let her shoot arrows then pick up the ones she missed or the occasional arrow she hit the enemy with that ends up in their loot inventory.
EDIT: Need to do more testing on it first to verify, I had 16 Ebony arrows and gave her 1, to test, she fired it and I found it on the ground, though it's still equipped in her inventory, but the arrow didn't get added to my stack (I still have 15, despite having 15 when I picked one up off the ground).

I'm doing an Argonian Assassin, but I alternate weapons quite often. My main hand is always a Blade's Sword (katana), and off-hand I either do a dagger for when I can sneak attack, or a Glass Sword with EnDrain enhancement (mostly for when fighting this up-close; like dragons.) And a bow/arrows of course for ranged Sneak Attacking.
I did the Labyrinthian dungeon last night and the first room was all skeletons and a skeleton dragon. Managed to snipe all of the skeletons and then land a Sneak Attack on the dragon. I love the Thief/Assassin path lol
As to the dagger issue, i play a similar character and the method i used for it was to spam muffle until i could use invisibility. (illusion) Now i crit hit then just use invisibility and run away, everything loses agro, rinse, repeat, profit.
So what's a good way going about power leveling Enchanting?
I pretty much disenchant every unique magic item I discover, but I think the main problem lies in finding soul gems available for putting a soul in; they're just not as common as I'd like them to be unless they just randomly pop up in that mage dude in Dragonreach's inventory.
there are a bunch of gems u can steal from the Arch-Mage's room and the students rooms at the college of magic if u haven't already
If they're available for use without putting a bounty on my head, that would be ideal. I hate to be the typical goody goody two shoes, but I'm saving the robing everyone blind modus operandi for my sneaky kajiit.
On a side note: For speech leveling exploits, does selling/giving arrows one at a time still work like it did in Oblivion? It always counted as a separate transaction and thus worked wonders for leveling your speech.

Make a crapton of Iron Daggers .. Enchant them with Petty Souls Sell to mages 200-330g each buy their soul gems and Enchant new daggers, drain health enchant sells the best then fire.
Bethesda Softworks just announced the fifth game in the Elder Scrolls series and the sequel to The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion will be called Skyrim. And it'll be out next year.
Bethesda's Todd Howard introduced the game with a brief teaser showing a stone dragon and a dramatic narration that sets up the story of the next big role-playing game in the Elder Scrolls series. That teaser also dates Skyrim for November 11, 2011.
I cannot bloody wait. I've always loved the Elder scrolls series since Daggerfall.
