I works beautifully on the XBOX 360. I've put in over 30 hours with no issues. I've seen various comments saying it works well on the PS3 as well.
I heard bad things about the PC version as it pertains to glitches, I'd stay away from the PC version until they've fixed it.
theres a glitch if you install on the xbox harddrive regarding textures, ps3 is quite nice though
Yeah I can vouch for the PS3 version, 25 hours and no problems. Although yesterday I left the game on for 8 hours and started having consistent choppy framerate drops and then textures started glitching out. But i turned the console off for about an hour and it was fine. Thinking maybe it got heated or something from being on too long. This game is going to kill my PS3 more than likely.
I really am having trouble concentrating at work right now. I just keeping reading lore on UESP (Elder Scrolls wiki) and thinking about what I'm going to do when I get home.
Haha, same. I find myself humming the main theme at work.
Normally I'd use a week's vacation for something like going out of town for some special concert or event, but frankly it would be just as pleasing to binge on Skyrim right now.
Another question, this time related to smithing:
Is there a forgery of sorts that lets you refine ore into ingots? I have mined up plenty of valuable ores, but simply have no way of making it into ingots necessary for upgrading weapons and armor.
Am I overlooking something simple, or have I simply not yet reached the necessary tool yet?

smelters. if you're in white run, go back behind the forge and the smelter will be back there
Yea before i did smithing, my character level was like 16, got that to 100, now speech is 51, and character level is now 26. By the time i finish Speech I'm sure the bandits and people I fight now are going to be a bit different hopefully. (Wearing maybe Glass armor or something)
I want my first playthrough to be done without glitches or "easy" ways to skill up. But it's soooooo tempting. ;-;
Only exploits I've taken advantage of us terrain advantages and faulty enemy AI. I ran around this rocky hill for like 10 minutes slowly but surely taking down a mammoth, and I also managed to take down a Sabre Cat because he was too busy staring me down from a cliff to figure out he just had to run down a hill to reach me, so I filled him up with arrows.
I guess Sabre Cats really are just cats.
They'll quickly climb up without hesitation, but figuring out how to get down will get the best of them.
I get enough skill ups by just avoiding fast travel, i've walked everywhere so far, I do die alot but I get there eventually. Level 15 and 43 one-handed is my highest skill. Maybe that's really low or something but I've only done two or three legit dungeons and a handful of quests. Most of that is just from me doing the long walk.

So I'm an archer basically in this game also. And when you pull out an arrow You move extremely slow in SKyrim than you did in Oblivion. Has anyone got that Ranger perk yet for the increased movement speed to see if it is a big diffeence? I'm only 52 Archery right now so I don't have it yet
Oh yeah, I wanted to ask earlier, but forgot.
Are there particular advantages and weaknesses to certain elements of destruction magic? Both my ice and fire do pretty well in terms of damage, but I notice shock is pretty weak. Also I noticed by being set on fire myself that fire gives a sort of cumulative damage over time by being set on fire and continuously burning, while frost seems to slow me down significantly.
I'm not really sure what triggers them, I think you just have a certain percent chance of making a death blow when their health is so far down..
From the strat guide- (Paraphrased as I forget where I found it or exactly what it stated), any unblocked, power attack has a chance of finishing. The more profound you are in said skill, the better chance you have for the finishing move to occur. Essentially, if you're like me and you're spamming attack in between their attacks, you are often going to accidentally power attack the moment they stop blocking or finish executing a failed attack of their own.
Maces are wonderful for this and I've 1 shot quite a few mobs the same level or even higher than me. Side note: Hagravens are the scum of the earth and REALLY like fireball.
Heh it's funny, I made a new char the other night and made a mage build, but quickly discovered that Skyrim is pretty true to it's roots and often turns a cheek to those that delve in the arcane arts. Scrolls and magic supporting equipment aren't easy to come by aside from ransacking Necromancer hideouts.
I could go to that college of magic, but it is quite a hike.
Hopefully there is still a spell building system. But sadly I have yet to find any good enchanted staves. Besides, dualcasting is almost too powerful to neglect in nearly any case.
But I would love some more ranged and protection spells instead of your typical ray spells.
Buy all the scrolls from the Riverwood Trader in one fell swoop, and sell a bunch of heavy armor at the same time. He will quickly begin to obtain many, many good mage items in the form of armor. They get better as you level up as well.
For people doing 2h and heavy, do just the opposite in Whiterun, and she'll start getting better and better heavy duty supplies.
Heh I notice you can't just spam spells to skill up anymore.
You actually have to cast on a target to skill destruction, you actually have to take hits while your alteration is in effect, and you have to recover health from being hurt to up your Restoration.
(Sorry if this was already answered, but I'm at work AND on a mobile)
Is there any benefit to wearing light armor vs heavy armor on a Melee oriented character that doesn't sneak?
I was thinking of making a new char thats a Nord(or an Orc) and specialize in dualing one-handers and wearing light armor, (for theoretically more mobility) kinda berserker-ish I guess.
Obviously weight is the main thing, but with that one perk it makes that irrelevant. So is there anything I'm missing?
I was hoping maybe it has something to do with fatigue or something, so like if I wore all light armor I would use less to do power attacks, therefore allowing me to use more of them before running out. Idk.
Bethesda Softworks just announced the fifth game in the Elder Scrolls series and the sequel to The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion will be called Skyrim. And it'll be out next year.
Bethesda's Todd Howard introduced the game with a brief teaser showing a stone dragon and a dramatic narration that sets up the story of the next big role-playing game in the Elder Scrolls series. That teaser also dates Skyrim for November 11, 2011.
I cannot bloody wait. I've always loved the Elder scrolls series since Daggerfall.
