Well they asked about making, not upgrading, but good to know..
Trying to keep people from spending perks unnecessarily. Can always make armor better that you pick up once you're high enough lv for it to start showing up.
You would still need to spend the perke on them because if you have the perks, when you upgrade the armor, It makes it even better.
When you are skilling up smithing, I'm guessing you just re-sell the daggers back for a huge loss?
You could technically go loot the Dwarven area, Make a bunch of Dwarf Ingots, and Craft a fook-ton of Dwarven Bows, which are pretty simple to make... (when you get the right skill level)
That, and they sell for alot, so you make more than your money back
Err.. well more specifically...where are these dwarven areas exactly lol -.-
I saw one on my way down to Riften. I want to say just West of Eastmarch on one of those mountainsides. I didn't go in because I had no idea how hard it would be and I was like level 12.
Now as far as I know, in Skyrim (as well as Morrowind and Oblivion), every 10 skill levels allows you to level up. But every now and then I gain a skill that gives very little towards my next level, and often times need more than 10 per level.
I just hit 22, with my 252nd skill gain. If every 10 is a level, I should be 26, so atm it's almost as if 40+ skill levels have all been for nothing and will eventually cockblock me out of hitting max level (minus unfucking it with console commands, of course).
I'm either doinitwrong, or found a (bad) bug. Now as far as I know, in Skyrim (as well as Morrowind and Oblivion), every 10 skill levels allows you to level up. I noticed this also when I started leveling smithing (which I am just now finishing to 100). When it was level 15, when i would level it up, it barely felt like the bar towards my character level was moving. Now every level I got with smithing seemed to move the bar like 1/6th or 1/8th or something. Maybe the character level goes up based on what level that skill was when you level'd it?
Yeah, you get more EXP when the skill you've just leveled is higher up. One-handed from 80-81 will do a lot more for your level than smithing from 20-21.
So i just got smithing to 100, saved, then got max perks in smithing just to see what the damage and defense rating on everything is. So it seems like there is no reason to put perks on the left side (Light armor side) of the smithing perks because Daedric Bows are the highest damage, and Dragon armor is the best Light armor, which you can reach that perk from the right side anyway.
I did read those links lol. I actually favorited it.... Anyways, it says that you can pay people to enchant things for you, I assume this wouldn't be as good as if you had 100 enchanting yourself?
Just had a hell of a fight against some Lich NM named Krosis, dropped a mask with Alchemy, Archery, and Lockpicking +20% each. My kind of drop.
I got one like that in a tomb, from a Lich called Volsung, 20% price drop, +20 carrying, underwater breathing (Obsolete for me), I wear it when Im on a looting spree in dungeons.
And I got one from another one of those Liches called Vokun. His mask is 20% less magic used on Conjuration, Illusion, and Alteration spells.
I think next play through I'm going to go full on mage..
I didn't even get through the first playthough. I rolled up a new Conjuration/Destruction setup and haven't looked back. Conjuration levels crazy fast when you're double-fisting an atronach and a bound weapon. Fight starts -> double cast -> switch offhand spell to shield or projectile.
Doing the first part of the Mages College quest when that woman is giving you the tour, a dragon attacked, took the dragon down, now she won't finish the tour. She keeps saying "I'll talk to you when I'm done giving you the tour" but she's not giving it, lol. She's just walking around randomly and sitting on ***.
I had the same thing happen, but it was right when I had shown up a second time to cast the spell on the glyph to get in. The chick is all like 'Very good, you may now en- OH S**T DRAGON!' and starts spamming magic at it.
Dump stuff like ingot/leather at your home. Also the little things make up for a lot of needless weight. Check your books, useless clutter etc.
I usually get loaded down with 100+ potions I've made, but the real killer is dragon bones and scales. They weigh like 10 or 15 each and show up in the 'misc' section. I couldn't figure out why I was always at 250+ weight for six hours or so.
LOL i just got 3 levels from doing 25 iron ingots worth of smithing XD
The best way to lvl smithing is to make Iron Dagger's need 1 Iron Ingot and 1 Leather Strip,When the npc's u buy the ingots from runs out just wait or sleep for about 24-48hrs game time its best if you have like 3 npc's you can fast travel back and forth to,Took me about 3hrs to get to lvl 100 w/o cheats.
Except if you do this too early your player level is jacked up but you don't have the actual skills to match it. Good way to screw yourself over a little except for the incredible gear you'll be using (by refining it, but good luck getting materials for the best stuff). My suggestion is only to skill up to 40 and spend the perk so you can make dwarven or glass until you can actually get the materials to make the later stuff.
is it just me or do the guards all sound like arnold swarzenegger?
Lol I've been thinking the same thing.. Well not that they sound like Arnold, more like someone's horrible impression of him. Only person I've ever heard do a good one is Pablo Francisco.
Ok so I baught skyrim for ps3....., and it didnt work...well at least not for my ps3, I have a 150gig 1st generation, that came with Uncharted, Every game/dvd/bluray I have put on my ps3 has worked, until I got xmen first class on bluray, and only my ps3 wouldnt play for some reason, then today when i tried to play skyrim, It didnt work either, I tried it on my bro's ps3, and it worked fine, so did xmen first class. has anyone had a problem like this?, i think im going to send my ps3 in, and have them look at it,
Btw, I played skyrim for about 4hours, and thought it was awesome, already Like it better then oblivion.
The laser is going out on the disc reader. Same exact thing happened to me, just with different games/discs, some would work, some wouldn't, some would work only some of the time, some would get to the loading screen for like the main menu then just stop.
You can replace it yourself for cheaper than sending it in if the warranty is dead on it and you're handy with electronics, it's not that hard, not any soldering or anything, you just have to take it apart and replace the laser which is as simple as unplugging the old one and plugging in a new one. There's plenty of guides on the internet on how to do it step by step, and guides to identify the exact laser you need.
There's also a chance (a slim one) that the lens is dirty and needs to be cleaned, there's guides for that as well.
Thanks for the info, gona buy a blu ray lens cleaner for ps3, and if that doesnt work, find a youtube video on how to replace it.

100% based on skill. Perks have nothing to do with the % increase in armor stats.

No, but it is much better than the crappy enchantments you get along the way (which you have to use and absolutely ruins decent pieces for you to learn the enchantment types. I just destroyed 12% reduction in destruction cost, 75% magicka regen, 17% reduction, 20% one-handed dmg increase, +20 health and +30 magic just to learn the augments. Afterwards, I put them back on my best pieces of gear and the best % of anything I could get was about 4% with a common soul gem. FML

How would perks have nothing to do with it. It says you refine them twice as much with the perk. Therefore making them better. You can't make them Legendary status without the perk basically

No. No it's not.
The level of item quality are Fine, Superior, Exquisite, Flawless, Epic and Legendary. The Smithing level to unlock these qualities depends upon whether you have the perk unlocked associated with the item you are refining.
The perk for heavy armor weighing nothing... Feels good man.
Wait... So wouldn't this make Light armor basically useless?
If the full Daedric set weighed nothing what benefit would LIght armor give you over Heavy armor?

That's why I went for heavy armor, with that perk in my mind. MAYBE it doesn't affect sneaking, but even then, it's pretty imba.

I have done superior upgrades in Dwarven, Elvan and Dragon armor with 0 perks in Smithing. (Currently 38ish I believe) I cannot craft any of these from scratch I know, but I can upgrade them. I am currently using and Orc Mace and Elvan sword (superior) as a matter of fact. Of which I upgraded.
Although when I killed this Draugr boss (Had a sword with en-drain) I was a bit disappointed there was nothing significant in this dungeon, then I saw the dragon wall and went "EEEEEEEEEEEEEEE" and learned some frost breath thing.
I figured out how to do smithing (Thanks again guys) so now I'll just go kill a ton of deer/wolfs and buy some ingots and slowly skill up.

Heavy Armor still drains your fatigue when sprinting or doing anything else a lot more. That's the main reason Light Armor is good.
Bethesda Softworks just announced the fifth game in the Elder Scrolls series and the sequel to The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion will be called Skyrim. And it'll be out next year.
Bethesda's Todd Howard introduced the game with a brief teaser showing a stone dragon and a dramatic narration that sets up the story of the next big role-playing game in the Elder Scrolls series. That teaser also dates Skyrim for November 11, 2011.
I cannot bloody wait. I've always loved the Elder scrolls series since Daggerfall.
