How do you think the PS3 version will compare with the PC version of Skyrim?
Obviously, some of this is speculative, since Skyrim hasn't been officially released yet. Still, I'm curious watch you think.
I play FFXI exclusively on PC, but outside of FFXI, I generally prefer console gaming, especially the PS3. I'm just not into using the keyboard/mouse for solo games. It's a matter of preference.
I realize some (or many?) people like PC versions of games like Skyrim, since it's possible to "customize" the software more readily in a PC format.
I get that. But given that I don't have any particular personal affinity for after-market customizations, is there really any advantage to using the PC version? Or would the PS3 version likely be just as good (if not better than?) the PC version?
Besides distance rendering on ultra mode, and maybe key bindings.. I don't think there will be much of a difference between PC and PS3 versions besides the mods. Both should look amazing and suit to your style of play.
I have this game pre-ordered, but I have been going back and forth a bit about actually purchasing it. I own both Oblivion and Morrowind and stopped playing both of them part of the way through due only to the leveling system. Here's why:
I am a perfectionist with RPGs. I love to be able to be the most powerful the game will let me be and complete all of the side-quests, main missions, etc. BUT I found Morrowind's and Oblivion's leveling systems to be a burden that detracted from what were obviously beautiful and rich games. The fact that leveling the most efficient way was always on my mind left me unable to enjoy the game for what it was. I really wanted to just forget about perfect leveling and focus on having fun, but I found this difficult to do.
So, Skyrim is supposed to have the same sort of leveling system, right? Should I expect myself to feel the same way about leveling? What if I decided to just enjoy and not be overly obsessed with perfect leveling...will I find myself unable to complete some of the harder things? Will I be disappointed?
I know that some of these questions are difficult to answer for another person, but I would appreciate any ideas/thoughts/advice anyone can give. Thanks.
You're talking about the whole "I need to get 5x attribute multiplier" thing right? That constant feeling of if you don't get all 5x's you gimp your character permanently?
Yes, that is gone. About the only forethought you need in leveling, is how early you want you acquire your perks, and which perks to get, since the absolute level cap is around 75, which nets you only 1/4-1/5 of the total available perks (Including levels of certain perks)
You're also not forced to use your perk point immediately. So if you don't meet a skill requirement, you can hold off.
Zicdeh is right. The only important thing right now is how to spend your perks. If you spend your perks on things like speech, sneaking or crafting you'll obviously be less effective in combat.
Sweet...this is great. I will be definitely getting it.
I should bribe my friend to picking up my copy at midnight since I'll be stuck at work.
What seems like a reasonable bribe? $20? More?
And then he'll start playing it and won't wanna give it up. But that's what I'd tell him if I were to do it, that his reward for picking it up is that he could try it out. Unless he's going to pick up his copy in which case there should be no bribe needed.
Word, Papa Johns is disgusting. That Garlic Butter sauce is *** amazing though.
Pizza Hut Stuffed Crust is always a winner, but if you know any local places that are really good... There's this place where I live, their pizza is like, well... The closest thing I can think of is getting sucked off by an angel.
Papa Johns ain't bad. I think your issue is store related Slip.
But the garlic butter sauce and pepperocinis alone are worth getting Papa Johns. Though I do fancy stuffed crust from Pizza Hut.
Try asking them to leave it in the oven an extra 3-5 minutes next time.

I ain't going there again <_< and I have voiced my complaints that dough isn't thoroughly cooked when ordering there a couple of times (Papa John's puts out some good deals) and they assured me they'd remedy it, lo and behold, still undercooked dough. I can't justify giving them yet another chance, I can just order from Domino's or Pizza Hut and get it right every time (I'm not a huge fan of Domino's but I'll eat it).
Or better yet, now that I know how, I'll just make my own pizza.. Since I started making my own, I don't think we've ordered pizza from anywhere. Why order when we can get it absolutely fresh and straight out of the oven?

This. There really is no place that can beat one that you make yourself.
On a side note, yeah home made is better than anything, but with the release being at midnight and all, I'm likely going to have to order early or go with whomever delivers late; or at worst a take and bake.
How did the Skyrim thread take a disappointing turn to pizza?
Not much else to discuss about it other than our anticipation I guess.
Though I would like to remind people about the release of the soundtrack. Looks pretty gnarly.
Make me one Slip.. I've seen the pics.. I think id pay for that. looks delicious.
It's not that hard, you can make your own <_<
It looks and tastes as good as it does cuz it's made with all fresh ingredients and hand made. The only downside is you need to plan ahead of when you want to make it, for the dough to take on a good flavor it needs to sit over night, you can really taste the difference between dough you let rise and then used right away and dough that's been sitting in the fridge over night.
Bethesda Softworks just announced the fifth game in the Elder Scrolls series and the sequel to The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion will be called Skyrim. And it'll be out next year.
Bethesda's Todd Howard introduced the game with a brief teaser showing a stone dragon and a dramatic narration that sets up the story of the next big role-playing game in the Elder Scrolls series. That teaser also dates Skyrim for November 11, 2011.
I cannot bloody wait. I've always loved the Elder scrolls series since Daggerfall.
