Is it just me, or is Oghma Infinium broken after 1.04 patch?
Was broken a while back for me. I never could abuse it, and that was about 2 months ago or longer.
Should have done it when it was first figured out. I was able to do it once, and manage to keep the book. When I snag it again, it never gives me the option of what to upgrade again. Suppose I'll just have to do it legit.
It's been over a week since I played, but I abused the living crap out of Oghma Infinium. I admit it. But I honestly got to level 52 on my own! ... now I am just level 62 instead ;w;
I can test it out tomorrow to see if I can pull it off.

Two days ago I was 58 (legit leveling), 30min later, I was 81. Definitely going to use that trick on any character I feel I've reached a goal with, then it's time to PL and rape faces.
Finally got NVIDIA Surround to work ingame. Now I can use all 3 monitors and not have screwed up menus. Uninstalled all my old mods, re-installing..
HD Textures
Midas magic system revamp.
Deadly Dragons
Quality World Map
Realistic Water
Esthins Fantasy Realism ENB
Crafting Meltdown
and a couple custom armors.
Going to start a new game from scratch and actually beat the game this time..
The big tree is still there when I gave her the seed :\ haven't played since that happened, wanted to see what the lil tree looked like D:
(xbox)
I thought it just changed what the tree looked like. Like dead > alive or something.
You have two possibilities.
If you go there with the priest guy he'll tell you not to hurt the tree and pray to it, the tree will offer a sapling and you can take it back to the lady. They will plant the sapling and instead of the big dead tree you should have a small new tree blooming.
Problem is the dead tree is still there and halfway down the trunk you can see the new tree's branches. Very annoying and disappointing :\

O >.> lolxbox then?
It's on all 3 systems, the only difference is on PC you can delete the old tree using the console.
Also, I was reading the wiki and it says companions you get don't level with you. Is that correct, that they're locked at the level that you first recruited them?

Now that I think about it it could be true, not sure though.

I think the more important thing is to make companions use the friggen weapons you give them instead of their own. My cat guy keeps using his shitty like 1 damage bow instead of my fully smithed sword and it's super annoying >_>
It's not like they're very useful anyway, they just kinda get in your way all the time. I prefer companions that are actually needed, like in Dragon Age. Kinda disappointed me when I first tried this since you can 1shot most enemies even on master :/
I find that Lydia does some good, and it immerses me a little more by actually giving a ***whether she dies or not. She also murders anything below my difficulty level in one hit, regardless of her level. I'll look into the Wabberjack. Thanks.
I refer to companions as backpacks. I usually make them stop at the entrances of dungeons.
They're useful as tanks, especially on Master without exploiting crafting, since enemies can kill you pretty fast. But that usefullness ends around level 25 or so, when you start getting abilities to deal with super-strong enemies. (Assassin's Blade, Paralyze, Frenzy, etc)

I usually put paralyze on my sword and bow and it procs a lot. It's hilarious when the enemy doesn't die and instead falls off a bridge or something because of paralysis.

I tend to use Lydia where-ever I go, and I'm in the level 60's lol. Ultimately it falls on one reason alone: She can carry the heavy crap, and I can keep on adventurin' without a worry. xD Also handy enough for me because I do a lot of conjuration, so Lydia is like another unit that does damage for me, just like my conjured atronachs or Dremora lords.
Restoration Potion -> Restoration Potion -> Restoration Potion -> Enchant alchemy gear, repeat process, led to maxed mercantile skill after one sale, and 798,000,000~ armor rating. Not to mention over 3,000,000 HP, stamina and MP. >_____> I am a god, and so is Lydia!
While it makes sense to cap them early compared to the Dovahkiin, as not to make them equally overpowered in terms of damage dealing and mitigation. I think they should cap their combat skills up to a certain extent, but continue to level in terms of health and stamina as to keep up in terms of survival when the player advances further in level beyond their follower.
On a side note, are there any mage followers, or have I simply not been looking/playing long enough?
Bethesda Softworks just announced the fifth game in the Elder Scrolls series and the sequel to The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion will be called Skyrim. And it'll be out next year.
Bethesda's Todd Howard introduced the game with a brief teaser showing a stone dragon and a dramatic narration that sets up the story of the next big role-playing game in the Elder Scrolls series. That teaser also dates Skyrim for November 11, 2011.
I cannot bloody wait. I've always loved the Elder scrolls series since Daggerfall.
