Hey I know it was mentioned previously many pages back, but where was that [or any] 2 handed katana at, anyone know?
Yes, there is a dai-katana (thus two handed) however it has many complicated drawbacks to it as it comes in the form of a daedric relic from Mephala. Basically you have to kill people that have befriended or trust you to increase it's power, and while it levels up your two handed-skill from use, it does not improve from two-handed skill or perks but rather from one-handed perks/skill. More info here

A bit ridiculous isn't it?
Ugh. lol
I'll probably get it anyway but mannnnnn...
Basically you have to be a total *** and level up one-handed to become a "samurai" type. Luckily console cheats make this much easier as you can force the necessary level of trust in the relationship between you and a NPC and also resurrect the same person and repeatedly kill them til it's fully upgraded.
Just got Skyrim the other day. Time to go on a bloody overpowered rampage as an Orc that only skills 2handed, heavy armor, armorer, and whatever bow is now.
Expansions or DLC's whichever route they go should probably begin with the area of skyrim/morrowind to the east of Riften, as there is a decent amount already rendered there (gates, bridges etc) in comparison to the rest of Tamriel, which is only base rendered (with the one exception being the white-gold tower of Cyrodil).
Someone posed a giant conspiracy theory on reddit awhile back involving the bug jar lids and the runes on them. The short version is Skyrim is the last tower still bound. When that tower goes (be it high hrothgar or the weyland stones) Mundus becomes unbound and the Altmer return to their once god like immortal selves (and every other race dies in the process, making the Altmer the easy pickings for an eventually TES "mega boss").
If the crazy theory is correct, I'd assume we'll finally get an answer to dwemer/falmer mysteries as well as possibly the ability to move from one area of Tamriel to another, although, they could save this for an entirely seperate game.
there are no real dwemer mysteries, most of what they did to themselfs in explained in morrowind and i dont see them revisting somthing like that for the few questions though i agree with you on area i would welcomne a return to mournhold. On the subject of the falmer id love to see more lore on the snow elfs added if nothing else. The game has heavy refrences to a great war between man and mer 30 year before the game starts, id like to see more high elfs dead so maybe a trip to summerset isle to kill them all XD? An idea that floats around my head though is since when you defeat a dragon it goes all Highlander(There can be only one) style maybe somthing along the lines of kill em all, adding new areas with new dragons to hunt down and ovbs new shouts( i think new shouts are somthing that we will have to see unless they ad new skills) one thing id like to see is jyggalag(sp?) the only daedric god miss out in skyrim such a god would clearly try and manipulate the dragonborn.
TL;DR
KILL HIGH ELVES, MOAR SHOUTS, KILL MOAR DRAGONS AND JYGGALAG SHRINE QUEST!
Dwemer themselves have never been explained beyond what is known in books. Their fate as well as their strange self created gods are one of the biggest mysteries of the elder scrolls series, and skyrim has gone to great lengths to make this I guess you could say a "sub plot" without ever creating a quest around it.
there is a dwemer in morowind who after a quest explains that the dwemer got a lil bit power hungry and tried to make themselfs gods/immortal and the experiment fails and the physical form of the dwemer was wiped from tamriel, bar the half mechanical dwmer in morrowind who was in the outer realms at the time of the opening of the heart of lorkhan thus managed to survive also when your doign that quest you are in the dwemer ruins under mournhold and theres lots of ashpiles on chairs, beds and next to armour and weapons. In morrowind i think you also find a few undead/spirt dwemer but i can't remember. At any case if they bring the Dwemer back likes to be in the next game not in an add on of any kind.
They tried to use The Heart of Lorkhan to have their entire race ascend to being on the same plane as the gods and Daedra, but something went wrong and it simply cause them to vanish. It's left vague, and that one dwarf in Morrowwind who is immortal and infected with Corprus can apparently visit other known planes of existence. The Dwemer, he has said, are not on any plane that we currently know about, and he has searched for them for around 3600 years.
It's got that perfect conceptual vagueness to it, ya know? The creators could do a lot with it, keep us guessing with it, or scrap the idea. It's one of the mysteries of the series.
Both Vivec and Yagrum only tell you things known in books before you ever meet either of them. Vivec being the dwemer in morrowind, Yagrum being the half mechanical one. Neither give you facts, just state opinions. All that is known is the heart of lorkahn was used to create a new god, and all the dwemer (save a few where the experiment took place) disappeared (The ones near the experiment did have corpses, and are the only dwemer remains found anywhere in tamriel). Everyone to attempt to recreate what they did, has disappeared (no remains). This is the mystery. Or they could just be dead and that's that. But I find it hard to believe something touched on in every TES game can be answered simply by "they're dead, move on."

couple things, vivec is not a dwemer, he's a chimer (pre dark elf) that became a god due to the use of kargrenacs tools.
and theres a certain quest in skyrim you can do where someone attempts an experiment on keening... well ***happens and you get to talk to his spirit for some insight

He's actually half chimer/half dwemer. I'm not sure if this was meant to be appearance only in terms of his standings with dwemer religion, or if this was meant to pay homage to what the Dwemer originally were. Which quest are you refering to? I feel like I missed a giant part of lore or just did the quest at 6 am half asleep in zombie mode.
In regards to the creation kit iirc the said mid January, and have already released notes for the 1.4patch (not currently live) so I would assume in the great words of NCsoft; "Soon"
Vivec is Chimer and is basicly a elf in its truest form become Dark Elf God Due to being around the Dunmer(who are decended from Chimer). the Dwemer will reapprear but not in skyrim i don't think they would do "DRAGONS R BK LAWL.... OH OK HAVE SOME DWARFS 2". Speaking of Vivec, id like to see him return along with some more mention of what happened to the Nevarine after the events of morrowind, but i think it likely that any add on will be DRAGON related if you know what im saying or kill all high elfs what ever they add i doubt they will dissapoint Bloodmoon Tribuneral knights of the nine and shivering isles all added alot to the meat of the storys or morrowind and oblivion.
The Dwemer aren't descended from the Chimer. They are the Chimer. The transformation was instantaneous due to a curse brought upon them by Azura. Much like how Orcs came to be, Dwemer follows the same daedric god screws you over path.

I'm convinced now you're just confusing the words Dunmer and Dwemer. :/
vivec's appearance is half chimer- half dunmer, representing who the dunmer people were, and who they became after the tribunals betray of nerevar.
as for the quest, a college mage, Arniel Gane attempts to figure out why the dwarves disappeared by performing an experiment on Keening it self, one of the tools of Kargrenac and used by the nevarine to destroy lorkans heart. he too disappears but you get a spell to summon his shade.
also vivec is most likely gone for good. either A. the nevarine killed him or B. in oblivion one of the npc lines is the daedra had taken him during the oblivion crisis. if thats what happened most likely Azura took him to suffer for his betrayl.
edit: derp, belay my last post, others already explained x.x
Oh ok now I remember why I couldn't finish that quest. My unbound Daedra is still walking around the college and completely prevents me from using any other summon spell. Gonna go see if I can mark for delete him and finish out Arniels quest.
Urrgh. Got my smithing to 100, working on enchanting now, its at 70... gonna make me a ton of dragon armour, some for my follower Lydia, and some for myself as well until I can make a full set of Daedric armour. The rest of the dragon armour I will go ahead and sell. Should get me a good bit of money!
On an annoying note, I keep getting bugs with quests. I finish them but they are still in my quest log. Quite frustrating. Wonder when a patch will be released to fix those... and I also get battle music when no enemies are nearby (like after I killed them all, it continues to play).
Well my daedric armor is beast now with an armor rating of 1342, just retired my Nightingale set from skilling light armor to 100 along with 5 other skills at 100, try to finish off sneak and lockpicking currently 59 with the game beat except thief achievement once im done with that ill create a thief for my next character that will specialize in archery, sneak, lockpicking, alchemy, light armor, one-handed branch for dual wielding and illusion for camoflouge.
Bethesda Softworks just announced the fifth game in the Elder Scrolls series and the sequel to The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion will be called Skyrim. And it'll be out next year.
Bethesda's Todd Howard introduced the game with a brief teaser showing a stone dragon and a dramatic narration that sets up the story of the next big role-playing game in the Elder Scrolls series. That teaser also dates Skyrim for November 11, 2011.
I cannot bloody wait. I've always loved the Elder scrolls series since Daggerfall.
