It's a turban with wings on it. And a spider web in the back. And not a bandana D:<
Similarity is not suggesting they look identical.
Still, I think you should get your eyes checked, you're obviously going blind if you think that's just a "Bandanna". It's a hood with a face shroud. You can see the whole thing on the Completely Blue Sky art trailer.

Hes clearly covering his face and peeking through the holes of his fingers as to not ruin the experience for himself.
Anyhow, yea its not a bandana, if you examine it closely youll see what Zicdeh sees.
Any vets of the Elder Scrolls series think it would be ok for a Elder Scrolls noobie to jump into Skyrim when it's released?
Or is this the type of series where one "really has to play the previous games" to enjoy the sequel?

I've been able to jump into newer ones without having to go to previous ones, I'd imagine it should be safe to assume you will be able to pick up skyrim and just go.
The trailers and previews of Skyrim look awesome. Any vets of the Elder Scrolls series think it would be ok for a Elder Scrolls noobie to jump into Skyrim when it's released? Or is this the type of series where one "really has to play the previous games" to enjoy the sequel?
Its kind of like a FF series where you dont have to have any experience with the other games in order to enjoy it.
If you're a person that absolutely needs to understand or have a background history of the entire game, then perhaps you can either play the previous games or read up on the history a bit as each of the games takes place on a different parts of the overall world. Thus the only thing you are really missing out on is anything that has happen in other parts of the world or a few historical facts, Like kings/emperors/city history etc.
This information would have no great effect on your gameplay of Skyrim though as any information you need will be provided for you as you progress along the story.

if you have time i'd play morrowind but tbh 2 get the most out of elder scrolls game you gotta play em for weeks, best prolly playing skyrim only and going back after you done if u want the whole worlds story.
So is "Morrowind" generally considered the best of the Elder Scrolls games to date then?
By the majority, yes. I'd say it's a much better play than Oblivion myself.
You really can get great enjoyment out of Skyrim, however without having played any. If you try to pick up Morrowind you are going to end up disappointed that you have to put it down to play Skyrim, or disappointed that you have to wait until you've finished one playthrough in it before you can touch your new Skyrim. Either one of those scenarios will be bad. Get 50-100 hours into Skyrim, then decide if you want to go back to the other, or finish Skyrim. Either way you have countless hours of excellent RPGs from Bethesda to play.
What the others said Elanabelle, just play Morrowind and/or Oblivion if you want to catch up on the history and lore behind the Elder Scrolls series. Morrowind is good, but I liked Oblivion more. Make no mistake though, if you bought either Morrowind or Oblivion, it'd be a great investment for gaming!
That said, I'm so disappointed I cannot buy Skyrim Collectors Edition... not even sure if my laptop can run Skyrim at all even. Guess I might have to wait until I can play it, bummer T-T
morrowind was godly, while oblivion is not quite on par its still an amazing game. heck id get both if i were you, i saw the morrowind game of the year version with all the expansion packs at my navy exchange the other day for only 20 dollars. id imagine that oblivion might just be a couple dollars more, but well worth the price to get to experience those games if you havent before.
If you want a primer on the Elder Scrolls Universe, I suggest checking out the Imperial Library. It has all of the lore and backstory that you could ever want.
Morrowind is $20 with all of the expansions and Oblivion is $25 with all of the expansions and DLC on Steam.

Couldn't have said it better myself.
So glad you bumped this thread and put everyone back in misery so I didn't have to.

Now if only they could use motion sword fighting like Skyward Sword is going to have...
[-]
You wouldn't want to be in charge of parrying and complex sword/mace/dagger/etc manoeuvres?
Well that's just the thing. When a game gets motion control, that's the focus OF the game. I mean look at the Wii.
Unfortunately, the more recent trailers for Skyward Sword are looking the same way. More gimmicky, less substance.
I hope you are wrong about Skyward Sword. Usually Zelda games only utilize new technology to enrich a game, not take away from actual developmental work. I agree that the majority of motion games are trash though. Would be awesome to me, if it could be smoothly incorporated into good games such as ES:V
indeed, and i dont want to get constantly killed while playing on hardest difficulty due to motion control not parrying properly when i couldve just hit the block button.

This. Motion controls are way too finicky to support a game like Skyrim, or any game really. Half the time they don't recognize the more "complex" movements required by the game.

We should move to fitted suits, with motion sensors in them (like what's used to capture complex movements for video games and movies)
Bethesda Softworks just announced the fifth game in the Elder Scrolls series and the sequel to The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion will be called Skyrim. And it'll be out next year.
Bethesda's Todd Howard introduced the game with a brief teaser showing a stone dragon and a dramatic narration that sets up the story of the next big role-playing game in the Elder Scrolls series. That teaser also dates Skyrim for November 11, 2011.
I cannot bloody wait. I've always loved the Elder scrolls series since Daggerfall.
