If so, do tell actually. I've been constantly modding mine out and I like to compare or get other peoples' feedback on what works and what I might of not tried~
I use (in no particular order) Enhanced Night Skyrim Skyrim HD (HD retexture) Realistic Water High Quality eyes Detailed Faces Enhanced Blood Textures FFXA PPI (With a more "realistic" shader injection) Realistic Smoke and Embers Detailed Bodies No More Blocky Faces Skyrim Sunglare Nicer Snoflakes Armor Improvement (high res retexture) Clothes Improvement Also .ini file tweaks. Ultra settings. All I can think of off the top of my head, that pretty much covers it though. Game looks *** gorgeous.
I use most of those. It's goddamn amazing how well smaller ones like Blocky faces/Detailed from Xenius change it. Still have yet to try snowflakes, smoke and embers, realistic water [probably next], and enhanced night.
so if i were to make a rig from newegg that can play skyrim with these mods how much would it cost roughly?
I built mine for about 2k almost a year and a half ago, so cheaper than that I would imagine.
sounds pretty decent. figured it would be about 2k. ty btw^^
Depends on what your current system has and what resolutions you are running at.
It could well cost you only 300-500 bucks(ie a new GPU) just to run it at highest settings. It might cost you a bit more if your cpu bottlenecks you.
Well, played for about 2 hours tonight, and I really like it! Any tips on early gold?
Depends on your overall experience of the game you want. Casual player? min/max player? real RP player? Hard-core difficulty player? etc etc
I only bring these points up as any advice given can affect your overall experience.
That being said, enchanting items and selling them or making your own potions racks up a lot of septims in the game. A few perks make alchemy self sustain you throughout the whole game with just selling potions.
That being said might leave little to dungeon exploring. As there might be little reason to sell any loot anymore or care about the gold you find as youll have more money with crafting than you can even do with. Which may ruin your experience.
Stole the ingots that were laying on the floor in Riverwood and found a few mining spots near by and smithed a weapon or armor piece(steel body armor) and survived with that and w/e I took from the start of the game(captains armor+sword)until I found better weapons in dungeons quests. Doing all that I racked up 5k septims pretty fast(From selling all the found loot)

Easy to make big money by finding the Transmute Iron Ore book in the Halted Stream Camp or whatever just north of Whiterun.
Mass quantities of iron ore veins there, which you can transmute to silver, then transmute that silver into gold. Then craft rings/necklaces and gems in them if you have em for big money.
Even more if you got some enchants you can slap on them.
Cashier: "So, will that be credit or debit?" Me: "Oh, debit. I use to pay in credit. But then I took an arrow to the knee." Cashier: o.o? Me: "... Google it." Cashier: "I'm afraid to..." At least she was honest lol
Give it time. It'll catch on.
Totally going to use this. A great way to find out more of 'our kind'
Finding them is not the problem, its what to do with them once you have thats the problem...
If you can find a weapon that has "Banish daedra" or something like that on it, disenchant that and re-enchant daggers or other cheap-*** weapons with that on it. Even with petty soul gems, daggers went from selling for ~6gold to ~600gold. I've been shitting out gold since I found that while skilling my enchanting.
Considering making a new character, a sneaky thief/assassin type to counter my current run in and hit everything in the face with a giant sword style of gameplay. Any races that are notably better sneaky sneakers and whatnot than others? (I would look at the selection screen but I am still playing my current character while I am typing this lol).

I see no problem. Would be the best evening of my life. Oh, wait...what?
In general, the races give you bonus to the skills but they will still cap at 100. So pick a race that you like their traits and special power.
Exactly. Essentially, the bonus/base stats help you to about level 10-15. Beyond that, your perk placement, gear, and skill usage determines your strengths/weaknesses as a character.
Ah, ok I guess I will just pick whatever then. Really I can't remember ever using my Nord power once I got shouts, and while the resistance to ice is cool and all I don't think it has ever really been that huge of a factor.

I just liked being a nord to keep with the story. Seems kind of odd to be a nord hero and be a lizard guy...or worse, elf.
I didnt pick a side, yet. I was crossing the border when imperials thought I was some kind of rebel. Mostly just looking for work, dont really care about the war then this business with the dragons started. You all can deal with the war, I will handle the dragons...
/rollplay off
Hindsight I would have sold all the dragon bones I got for a while.. I have over 100 of each and have crafted all I want from them.

Yes! You'll have more dragon bones and hides than you could ever possibly need. Not to mention, if you need more I'm sure a dragon or three won't be too hard to find. They're *** everywhere!
Just earlier I was coming out of fast-travel from Mara's Eye-Pond to the Twilight Sepulcher and was attacked as soon as the screen loaded by two Ancient Dragons. Let's just say, thank god for Super Horse (Shadowmere).
Thanks Dread!!! Will do. Only level 37 at the moment though. Any place to easily skill up block??
Just find a couple bears and wolves and let them go to town trying to hit you while you block. If you're taking too much damage, either enchant some stuff with Fortify Block (so you block up to 100% of the damage) or kill off a few of the things attacking you.
I did pretty much the same thing with Light Armor. Had two bears attacking me while I had "Healing" set to both hands to dualcast. Never had a problem with damage overpowering my healing rate/Magicka reserve. Took Light Armor from 25 to 70 in about an hour I think (didn't time it). For clarity, I use the Lover's Stone, didn't have "Well Rested", have about 150% increased magicka regen, 42% faster health regen, and have the +50% cure potency perk.

I leveled both that way. Only i did it in a stronghold with like 10 of them beating me lol.
Easier than that was sneak. There is a chick sitting at the river, if you puty our sneaking stuff on and angle yoruself just right, going towards her poles holding the fish, you can level sneak in no time. Good thing about that is, she will never get up from fishing. And its west of the the starting city, Riverwood. She is all the way to the west on the river.
Level lockpicking using a lil weight on my D key, and went to watch a movie lol.
I try to keep a roleplay feel to it when I play, for a long time I was keeping my character within the law after doing the Companions storyline and trying to stick with that sense of honor stuff etc. I felt the companions would rely more on combat strength so I went with that, and being that we had the skyforge I leveled up smithing first. I stayed out of the war and just fought the dragons etc, but now I have run out of things to do as far as all that goes and I am level 59 so anytime I go to do any of the other stuff I destroy it. Doing the Dark Brotherhood and Thieves Guild arcs feel out of character and kinda too easy when it comes down to it, plus while the rewards from those were probably cool a while back, my current light armor and weapon setups blow them away.
It's worth to do them if you're not RPing a specific type of character. My mage won't do Dark Brotherhood or Thieves, My assassin will do anything, and my thief just wants to get money.

Did you try it on masters? I really doesnt make it that much more difficult but it does help.
Youll probably have to limit yourself playing skyrim, overly skilling up your skills will make you OP early on the game.
I don't think the Dark Brotherhood or Thieves Guild armor is ever actually any good, outside a few times when you might pop on a piece to pick a lock or sneak if your skill sucks. About the only piece I use are the Dark Brotherhood gloves for when I'm going to sneak attacks someone with daggers for a 30x damage hit, instead of 15x. The Thieves Guild boots are decent until you can make your own Muffle enchanted pair too.
Also, have you set your difficulty to Master? It could make them a little more challenging. I also get what you are saying about trying to fit the role of the Hero, only things I have stolen are what the Thieves Guild has asked me to (including all optional parts of quests). To this point (119 hrs playtime, level 52) I have yet to get a single bit of bounty anywhere.
My biggest issue is the health increase with Master. When I shoot someone 15 times with a bow who is shirtless.. it kind of breaks the immersion for me. My current play through is as a Thief / Ranger. I spend enough time crafting arrows as it is >.< And mages still 3shot me.
So it's not worth finish those quest after a certain level??
I think they are still worth it regardless of level. The stories are shorter than they were in Oblivion, but you still get nice things from them. Like, extra places to store your stuff or sleep, certain people can become your follower after finishing them, and other various perks. Not to mention a bad *** horse too.

Difficulty only increases damage enemies do to you and decreases the damage you deal, and currently Magic Resistance is broken so that is probably why mages are kicking your ***.
Bethesda Softworks just announced the fifth game in the Elder Scrolls series and the sequel to The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion will be called Skyrim. And it'll be out next year.
Bethesda's Todd Howard introduced the game with a brief teaser showing a stone dragon and a dramatic narration that sets up the story of the next big role-playing game in the Elder Scrolls series. That teaser also dates Skyrim for November 11, 2011.
I cannot bloody wait. I've always loved the Elder scrolls series since Daggerfall.
