Started a new game as a cat guy last night after beating the main quest at lvl 58 on my dark elf.
night eye does not help me see at night time at all... I could see it helping possibly if you arent playing on ultra settings, but it just basically has the same effect as the "Become Ethereal" shout, but makes the screen color change last 120 sec instead of 20 seconds lol. Granted it doesn't make you invincible XD but seems like kind of a wasted special ability.
This isn't the best example, but this is one of the few uses I have found for it - Peering into dark corners/areas
Important to remember that racial skill bonuses do not allow that skill to go over cap, so if you plan to max out a skill, they are pretty pointless. It's better to take each race's special abilities into consideration.
edit: my breakdown of races
High elf: +50 magicka, increase magicka regen 1/day. Useful if you plan to play a mage-like character, but don't want to level enchanting. Useless if you make -100% magicka cost gear.
Wood elf: resist poison/disease 50%, command animal 1/day. Poison and disease are no major problem, so those traits are essentially useless. Command animal may be helpful occasionally, but I think there is a shout which does the same.
Dark elf: resist fire 50%, fire cloak 1/day. The resist fire is nice (although all resist is currently broken). The damage on the 1/day power is a crappy 8/sec.
Orc: Berserk 1/day (double damage and -50% damage taken). This sounds pretty useful for a 1/day power, but they get nothing else.
Argonian: Waterbreathing, Resist disease 50%, increase health regen 1/day. Waterbreathing and resist disease are pretty useless. Daily power can be great in a pinch.
Breton: Resist all magicka 25%, Absorb 50% of magicka 1/day. Probably the most useful trait overall. However, with resist being broken currently it is useless.
Imperial: More coins from chests, Calm 1/day. No need for more coins, as money is very easy to come by. Calm would be great in a pinch though.
Khajit: Claw attacks, Night eye. Only useful if you are making an unarmed character.
Nord: Resist frost 50%, Battlecry (targets flee) 1/day. Similar to dark elf, but with a more useful daily power.
Redguard: Resist poison 50%, increase stamina regen 1/day. I've never really had issues with stamina, but it could help. Resist poison is pretty worthless.
Anyone playing this on console know if there are alternative artifacts for the "Oblivion Walker" trophy, what i mean is, you need 15 for the trophy, i have 14 and Markarth is basically a no go area for anything quest related for me at this point but after sinking 150+ hours into the game so far i dont want to have to do another run just because my game is glitched so im wondering if there is actually more than 15 available.

If you're just going for the achievement, should be fairly easy to just start a new character and run through those quests real quick. Should be easy enough since you're already familiar with the questlines.
Looks like they ninja patched that trading exploit that let you stash your gold right before a major purchase like your house in Whiterun. Unless I'm doing it wrong and it somehow triggers from some unintended action I took.
Edit: I was too slow the first time :<
Best to wait til the servant dude that sells you the house is in bed, wake him up, buy the house, then immediately toss your gold in his side table next to his bed, and voila! Free house!

Mehrunes' razor
Oghma Infinium
Ring of Namira
Sanguine Rose
Savior's Hide
Ring of Hircine
Skeleton key
Skull of corruption
Spellbreaker
Volendrung

Ring of Namira is started in Markarth and the one i need, the Skeleton Key doesnt count for the trophy and the Ring of Hircine you lose at the end of the quest after obtaining Saviors Hide. So yeah, looking at your list i need another run through for that trophy unless they patch the issue with the guards in Markarth.
Just reached a main story quest involving Markarth, maybe this will help with the guards.

You are perfectly capable of holding onto the Ring of Hircine and the hide simultaneously.

also when he's at the strategy table, if he stands on the side with his back to the great porch, theres a chest right beside him under the table. thats how i did it
Do you have to have all 15(of 17) in your possession for it to count for the achievement. For example I gave the skeleton key back when I got it so I am down one from the get go. Add to that I allowed the Skull of Corruption to get destroyed and I would be on the ropes right from the get go.

Doh I let him live and took the ring any chance I could go back and kill him and get the hide lol.
Question... My bounty in Whiterun is ridiculously high due to an assassination I had to make, only problem is, I am no longer able to talk to the guards. They just keep attacking, weapons are sheathed and all. Is my bounty simply to high? If so, what can I do?

Might sound obvious, but have you tried re-sheathing your weapon?
That's supposedly the way you withdraw or submit to your bounty in town.
Though I noticed (possibly bugged) that with higher bounties, guards tend to ignore it and continuously attack you :<
Would be nice if there was a way to simply pay it off without having to enter town or something like that.
player.setcrimegold XXX <faction id>- Set it high if you want to fight, set it at 0 if you want to be free.
NOTE: Each city has a different bounty which requires the faction id to be included in the syntax to work properly. Faction id's can be found by typing 'help "city name" 4' then using the id number following FACTN: in the above format.
If it is high enough (it's not a bug), the guards are meant to attack you on sight. There is no such thing as paying to get out of it or serving jail. It's equivalent to Wanted DoA in the wild west. They will assume kill you for your crimes than let you live.
Where is the real life person that inspired your avatar? I'm moving
EDIT: Just looked at the "Arcade" Forum Page, and this game absolutely dominates all other games (including stickied) on the front page in both replies and views. I move it be stickied, even though it will more than likely remain front page news for quite some time solely off of bumps.
I've done that same thing like 5 times, Iro. Dragon looks up at me like "Why the hell you up there?!" Then they get mad and fly up to yell at me to get down and fight them like a normal person. D:
Bethesda Softworks just announced the fifth game in the Elder Scrolls series and the sequel to The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion will be called Skyrim. And it'll be out next year.
Bethesda's Todd Howard introduced the game with a brief teaser showing a stone dragon and a dramatic narration that sets up the story of the next big role-playing game in the Elder Scrolls series. That teaser also dates Skyrim for November 11, 2011.
I cannot bloody wait. I've always loved the Elder scrolls series since Daggerfall.
