So...Dawnstar Sanctuary is official the most dangerous place in Skyrim.
Been running back and forth to it all day getting ingredients from Babette and there was a dragon that kept trying to attack me.
All day, every time I went there, there was a dragon. I even fought my first Ancient Dragon right outside there just a few hours before hand.
Well, this last time the dragon decided to notice me and start attacking. I said *** it, lets boogie, and took off my alchemy ***and geared up for a battle.
I start whooping his *** while simultaneously getting *** up on goomba*** that I had left over from my Alchemy ***. He was almost dead when I realized...somethings behind me. What was it?
Another *** ANCIENT DRAGON. First time I've fought two dragons at a time btw. So I'm dealing with this ***. I get the first one dead when the second just takes off into the air. I'm looking around for him when fire starts hitting me from the north. But because of the sun glare I can't see it to hit it with Dragonrend.
So ***...its so *** bright. So I look down towards the ground and what is walking along the shore? That's right. A *** frost troll, coming my way like Scooby-Doo up in that ***.
So I down some more goomba*** and head over there to introduce myself to that ***. I take him down. Then give the second dragon a protocol Tereza-the-Imperial *** whipping.

excellent rant, would read again, thats just how the higher levels are x.x
for some reason whenever i have encountered 2 dragons one never lands and i'm too busy with one to dragonrend the other, then it seems to dissapear or fly away after i kill the first lol.
Ok I know the update broke Magic Resistance but did it just cause it to have no effect or does wearing magic resistance gear actually give you negative resistance? *** Ancient Dragons fire breath take my health out almost to fast to even use a health potion on master. Their melee is super weak but *** that fire breath. Even used one of my potions that give me 97% fire resistance and it still just about destroyed me in two seconds.
Finally found a way to get Lydia to use the bow I give her, before she would only use the sword and armor I gave her but not bow. Anyway, I used the "showinventory" command on her and it showed her to still have her default long bow in her inventory (the stuff she wears and uses when u remove everything from her). So to prevent her from using it I used the "removeitem" command on the bow and her default arrows. Now she can only use the daedric bow and arrows I give her, otherwise she never uses a bow.
Another note for anyone who's Lydia seems to be super weak and just plain shitty. She does level up with you but sometimes she can bug and her actual stats and attributes aren't recalculated for her new level. To force her stats to recalculate to her actual level, have her leave you (last option when talking to her), then use the command "a2c94.disable" (close the console), then open it back up and type "a2c94.enable", and she should reappear. Once you have her rejoin you, her stats should be fixed. Also, make sure to remove everything you gave her before you do this just in case. I've actually lost items before from her, not always but sometimes. Found this trick and others on her page here.

And here I thought it was just an overpowered dragon or something, but I thought it was a little fishy I was getting wrecked with 103% frost resist from Ice Breath from a Elder Dragon last night. Hope they fix that soon otherwise dragons gonna blow on Master.
Oh they do blow on master, though it is, in a way a nice little challenge compared to being able to destroy just about anything else. Barring people that dualcast fireball at you (ouch).
At first the dragons were hard but that was before I learned about resistances and then everything seemed to go pretty easily for awhile. But yeah, even at 60% fire resist I got dual-shotted by Fireball before. >_>;
Anyone else disappointed that the Slow Time shout slows you down too? D: I wanted to be all Rolo from Code Geass on these bandits.
Keep upgrading it... once you get all three parts, time slows down, but you only get slowed down by like 50% or so. Best power to use while trying to take down a large target with a bow cause you get off more shots
Also on a lag related note-
I have no lag issues playing until I go inside something that isn't an outdoor city (caves, houses, etc). All of the sudden my comp has FPS issues when looking in certain directions. I've read it is related to the sounds in the game, but theres too many "fixes" online to know for sure.
After I have a lag problem, it affects the rest of my playtime until I quit/reload the game.
Also have a lot of crashing related problems. Hope they fix it next patch!
Oh and none of the treasure chests from the treasure maps you get are there for me :(
So I go to purpose for marriage, and a god damn Elder Dragon swoops down and starts attacking... Then again, nothing is more of a turn on for the ladies than om-nom-noming a dragon soul... Right?
I hate when npcs wont give me the dialogue option I want and I have to zone or wait or some other *** just to get it.
I just massacred an entire village of orcs because the leader wouldn't give me the One-Handed Training dialogue option, no matter what I did.
So I started with him, his wives, and then his children, followed by anyone else in is ***-hole village.
The whole time I was yelling "YOU COULD HAVE PREVENTED THIS. YOU MADE ME DO IT."
*** orcs.
I had this pickpocketing job in Windhelm, but got caught doing it. So I tell the guard this time "I'd rather die!" and massacred the town... Though some of them wouldn't die so my bounty was like 15k... Reloaded my previous save file ; ;
Also, it might be because your one-handed skill is too high?
Checking game cache integrity seems to have temporarily fixed my backwards dragons. Instead of flying backwards and never going aggressive, now they swarm in packs of 3 every time I fast travel.......
I notice the 1.2 patch helps with lag somewhat, but in exchange I get a lot more hard crashes on PS3 version :/
/sigh
Also, for anyone that has a sneak/assassin oriented character build, I'd love to see your perk layouts as I am extremely indecisive on what to pick for my own. Too many fields to cover, and I rather not make them all mediocre if it can be helped.
Kind of annoyed, I got my mage character to LV28 and Destruction 95, then my game started lagging. Like I could go for a minute without lag, then the screen would freeze for 10 seconds, and then I'd be okay for another minute. Idk what caused it and it's only on that character. I cleared my hard drive's cache and reapplied patches, etc, deleted auto saves, resaved on a memory card, nothing worked.
So I just started a new mage character. Necromancer this time!

Here's mine so far. Only level 54 though so I'm not done all the way. Need one more skill level in Light Armor to get Deft Movement. Then I want to get the last two perks in Bladesman. Cap the Archery dmg 5/5, and get 5/5 Enchanter along with Extra Effect. That would mean I'd need level 66 at least. Not sure what I'll do with the other perks along the path to 81 :x
Derkeethus just sniped a mage that was coming up behind me. It's official. Going back to my last hard save file and marrying him.
I actually haven't had any major issues in the 3 or so weeks I've been playing. I hear about Dragons "Oneshotting" people with unrealistic results (Fire resistance instakill Dark Elves for example), but I play on Master, and the Highest caste of Dragon (Ancient) deals appropriate 100DMG per Second with his breath, scaled with resistances just fine.
Really, my only complaint is the game has a habit of Stalling now, which seems to be as result of 1.2 patch. But I can't be sure, my file has over 120hours on it now, and it's not uncommon (Especially on consoles) for performance to degrade over such time as the game has to track more and more assets per cell. Then again, maybe it is a result of patch 1.2?
The official Bethesda boards lists magic resistances as something that is being addressed soonish though, for those that are having the problem. Of course, if you install that, you lose the famous "Oghma Infinium" exploit, where you can max your level in 11 minutes. (From Level 1)
Just a word of caution for anyone who hasn't realized yet. The Shout "Kill, Leech, Suffer" (Marked For Death) should be used very carefully, especially if you have companions. The Ravage Health and AR effects are cumulative and permanent... So if your companion is being one-shotted by Skeevers, that's probably why. True story.
Okay, gonna give my whole magic archer thingy one last try.
Didn't turn out so well at early levels, but as long as I focus continuously on atronachs to be my tanks, I think I can pull it off still.
Plus archery perks can help me pick off targets easier since I think their benefits stack with bound weapons, as they skill up simultaneously.
Here's the perk tree. Enchantments likely to focus heavily on Mana cost reduction, magicka regen and archery where available.
Magic Resistance and Armor are broken. Armor calculates only 1/4-1/2 of its value based on perks/level and magic resistance doesn't work at all. They were broken in "patch" 1.2

im trying to fight alduin and his fire breath has to be doing at leasty 500 dmg. he takes me down to like no health (i have 330) and i have to use two 150 healing potions to recover, not even to full health like half....
Bethesda Softworks just announced the fifth game in the Elder Scrolls series and the sequel to The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion will be called Skyrim. And it'll be out next year.
Bethesda's Todd Howard introduced the game with a brief teaser showing a stone dragon and a dramatic narration that sets up the story of the next big role-playing game in the Elder Scrolls series. That teaser also dates Skyrim for November 11, 2011.
I cannot bloody wait. I've always loved the Elder scrolls series since Daggerfall.
