I think you mean the Lover Guardian Stone right?
That gives a static 15% skill up bonus to all skill types.
Unfortunately it doesn't stack with Lover's Embrace or whatever it is you get when you sleep with your spouse.
I only recommend that if you're dungeon hopping or are too lazy to run back to the guardian stones when you switch your craft to level.
Yeah, I have a feeling Alchemy of all things is one of those things that always (based on the nature of how it skills up) starts very very slow, but over time gains a snowball effect and will go quickly when you get the skill and perks to make more potent potions. I also strongly recommend having enchanting leveled before going on any major sprees so you can have some gear with enhanced alchemy to speed up the process and get the ball rolling sooner than you normally would.
Yea pretty much said what I posted before I finished, but ya lol.
As someone who leveled each skill one by one, Smithing --> Enchanting --> Alchemy.
I can tell people looking to level these crafts that, Smithing was the easiest both from start to finish.
Enchant started off fast but later progressed really slow(70-100 was a night mare, just because I hadnt really explored much so I was stuck doing 48 hour boosts til I later when to college and Mardarth(sp) areas.
Alchemy started out a bit slow at 20, 30 should a bit of progress, after 40 it quickly picked up. 20-30 was probably slow because that was the stage that I was experimenting with combinations to actually learn what made what. Once I had a strong foundation to make potions it was all smooth sailing from there(perks/gear increased that speed and profit returns).
If I could redo that, I would level smithing with enchanting at the same time, doubling my speed and lowering my overall time spent. Once I had an adequate skill in both and could make some enchanted armor I would start using my alchemy and slowly raising it up behind smithing/enchanting.

I've been using it lately to grab a few levels necessary to reach certain perks. When you're comfortable with skills, I recommend Lord's Guardian stone as a base. Just me though, I don't want to break the game with insidious, God tier gear making me invincible.
What's the best way to go about skilling Enchanting?
I have a difficult time getting enough soul gems to warrant a crafting "session". Perhaps I could do the Azura's Star quest as long as the reward is of a static power and doesn't scale based on the level you obtained it like some others are.

Enchanting was a nightmare at first. I had all these daggers that could npc for like 700 but noone had more than 1100 gold. So i was selling off hundreds of these daggers one at a time before I said *** it, finished all of thieves guild, and sold my ***to Tonilla.
Ended up a pretty square deal. Got enchanting 20-100 and over 100k gold from starting at ~5k.

I fortunately figured this out at around lv 35 in each respectively, and began to keep any and all gear I made to save for enchanting runs. Skill up on Petty gems, and save those good ones for post level/perk/gear/potions!

Since Morrowind, Azura's Star has been a reusable Grand Soul Gem. I would hope it's not scaled down.

Here's what I did, buy something with banish on it and disenchant it. Then make tons of iron daggers. Buy filled gems from the court wizard in whiterun. Use those to make daggers with banish. Go sell the daggers and repeat.

Its still is it's awesome but imho you can make it into a better version for enchanting The Black Star can't be beat....

Probably better to make it the black star as you run into humanoids far more frequently than you do with animals. Not to mention humanoids always have grand soul value while animals tend to be common or less for the most part unless you manage to kill a mammoth or sabre cat/snow bear.

I basically smithed daggers, and then bought petty gems and enchanted them with absorb stamina(one of the first disenchants I had available to me). Giving me both skill ups at once.
While my daggers sold for pitiful amounts at first it was more than enough to cover the costs for buying petty/lesser soul gems, basically I made sure to profit or break event. I also used all the ebony ore/ingots from the mines and made ebony bows and sold those off easily making enough gold to last me til the next mining session.
I probably did it wrong or slow, but alchemy rewarded me more than I could ever hope for and basically erase all pain enchanting gave me.

Don't forget Soul Trapping your Conjured Atronaches!
I wish I would have done alchemy first then enchanting then smithing. Alchemy such a crazy septim maker and the mats are CHEAP light weight and can sell like crazy all over the place. It doesn't matter now but I had saved alchemy for last and realized how much easier it would have been to make coin selling crack lol.
***!
For some reason I'm permanately stuck in the Riverwood trader.
I cannot move, jump, go into third person, talk, steal, or do anything.
All I can do is look around >_>

I had this happen in Morrowind during a scripted part of a mod I was playing. Turned out to be Fatigue/Stamina being empty for a certain amount of time. (Some thief bashed me on the head and stole all my gold.)
Though I'm sure that has nothing to do with your problem. Just what it reminded me of. >__>
Well, I had just finished making my character and accepted the golden claw quest, and right when Camilla walked out the door I was frozen in place, unable to wait, move, jump, steal, talk or do anything :/
Had to load one of my old saves to get out of it.
Don't care to quote anything, just wanted to point out that the 61 damage max I cited for H2H was with everything. Pugilist enchant on all available pieces, Daedric Gauntlets, Khajiit. Everything. That is the absolute maximum.

I haven't began to mess with damage value variables and upgrades via smithing, but I take it that number is rather low in comparison to conventional weapons even with considered speed per attack?

61 with at least four or five skills pushed to 100 (including enchanting on my prior described build), so roughly level 40 or so. Compare to another melee who is likely doing 600+ damage a hit with equal amounts of gear and prep.
Ugh, I must have some unknown disease. My archery skill is showing up red and there's nothing listed in my current effects on my magic listing.
Hopefully sleeping will fix it for now but if not I'm gonna be a little on the screwed side.

Can always snag a shrine to make sure and remove any illness (aside from vamp/were)
Is there a shrine near Riverwood at all?
Because from the sound of it, this is happening to me.
I'll run to Whiterun if I have to but it's pissing me off that this may be glitch oriented.

Exact same skill is being debilitated too.
Judging from that, you might wanna just go shoot some stuff. :o
You remember that part about going to jail and your abilities (progress to the next level) deteriorating? I think the same occurs if you don't get any use of something that's partially levelled for quite some time.
I could be way off, but it makes perfect sense to me.

I only mentioned it as people have said to have gotten their power higher than that with w/e buffs they used. Somewhere around 259-ish in attack(not actual armor rating as their armor rating was 1300ish). If the attack number isnt going with what actual damage youre doing, I hope this bug is fixed then.
As far as 60 damage go, I have a weapon with that amount of damage and I can dispose of dragons np on master.
Then again damage is not a concern in skyrim, really the only thing you want to focus on is damage reduction, and you can basically make a char that can hit both physical/magic caps. Obviously one can argue that killing faster would mean needing less survivability tactics, but then where does one draw the line between difficulty? Fun? Entertaining? Easy? OP? Unchallenging? Boring?
edit: I will see if I can spend some perks for it, and time to try it out, even if I cant currently dedicate the process to it(not a khajit thus I loose out on the bonus).
Bethesda Softworks just announced the fifth game in the Elder Scrolls series and the sequel to The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion will be called Skyrim. And it'll be out next year.
Bethesda's Todd Howard introduced the game with a brief teaser showing a stone dragon and a dramatic narration that sets up the story of the next big role-playing game in the Elder Scrolls series. That teaser also dates Skyrim for November 11, 2011.
I cannot bloody wait. I've always loved the Elder scrolls series since Daggerfall.
