I hate that every morning I read this thread before work and get really excited to come home and play Elder Scrolls...then I get home, am tired as ***, and play for an hour before I get tired and start winding down for sleep.
*** THIS ***. Thinking I should drop out, quit my job, leave my girlfriend, and move back in with my mom. THEN SKYRIM WILL BE ON, SON!
I have to figure out something to do with my kids. I mean, yeah they'd be taken care of by my wife, but there's this stupid thing called child support. Of course, if I wasn't working I suppose that wouldn't be a big deal. It would when I was finally 500hrs into Skyrim and decided it was time to jump back in the real world. All that back pay child support would eat me alive.
Edit: 2AM bedtimes for 6AM work everyday is really wearing me out. It's FFXI all over again, but I don't have the excuse of "If I miss this event I won't get my gear", it's more like "Just one quest or a bit of smithing tonight." 5 hours later I check the clock, only to realize I should have been off 3 hours prior.
Also if you're lucky enough to find a fortified unarmed enchantment you can disenchant and add to your own gear, combined with potent potions to further fortify it, it could be a forced to be reckoned with.
I think there is a unique enemy in the ratway that always has a pair of unarmed+ gloves on.

If those are the ones I think they are, those are the only gloves you get unarmed+ on, which are the gloves you need to get to disenchant to gain the ability to make your own +fortify enchanted gloves(assuming thats the route you choose)
I hear conjuration is fun, and seems to go well with destruction path as well.
It is fun, it's what I am having my character do instead of the destruction path. Destruction path seems like an obvious choice to me, so I went with Conjuration instead. It's quite fun... some bandit tries to kill me, I conjure up a familiar or atronach. They kill it, and right as they kill it, I summon the next one, and so on until I win with hardly lifting a finger. :D
On another note, one of my major gripes with the game is with one of the cooler things in the game as it happens. Brawls with those certain NPCs where you go beat them up with just your fists. That's fun to do, it really is! But I *HATE* it when some guard or some other NPC JUST gets in the way when I am having this punch-out against someone else, and I get a bounty as a result. RAAAHHHH! >:E
Mine had just crept to 6Mb before the update, I was experiencing very small lag especially upon leaving buildings inside cities. After the update, my file shrunk by .4Mb, and even before my next save, every bit of lag was gone. They may have not completely fixed those with enormous files yet, but I am very happy with how much smoother gameplay is now.

I really hope there is a patch in the future to forfeit obtaining bounty and hatred in this case, and when you're helping protect the city from thieves, dragons and the like and accidentally hit/cast/shout on the wrong person. I am afraid to use any magic or shouts in/around town because of this, and always save immediately before a battle. I wish I didn't have to cheat and save before a battle just to make sure my 1 extra button didn't get me screwed.
This is one thing the Fable series did very well. When in town, your PC was in 'safe' mode unless you told it otherwise. This kept you from accidentally hurting innocents, or ticking them off without purposed intent. Give us battle 'safety' in instances with friendlies.
I understand this won't be perfectly easy, as you should be able to accidentally kill a downed follower by throwing magic and shouts around when in battle. I'm not saying turn friendly fire off, merely the enormous and potentially permanent penalty when getting caught up in the heat of battle.
Version 1.2, of course, will be doing the honors, and it's right around the corner with a Wednesday, November 30 drop date. Read on for the full patch notes, courtesy of Bethesda's blog.

Already available on the PlayStation 3 (though masquerading under the name 2.01), the 1.2 patch for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is due out for the PC and Xbox 360 on Wednesday, and the plague of marital corpses finally comes to an end.
Containing perhaps the most entertaining bug fix listing I've seen since they started fixing bugs, the Skyrim 1.2 update handles a handful of annoying (and entertaining) little bugs, while taking care of some performance and functionality fixes at the same time.
That's right, no more dead wedding guests, no more soulless dragons, and PC players reluctant to hook a game pad to their machine finally have the ability to hit escape to exit menus.
Let's look at the full list of fixes and updates.

I was really looking forward to a "fixed Misc. and side quests bugs."
but LOL at the "Fixed occasional issue where a guest would arrive to the player’s wedding dead"
Speaking of Zelda, I named all my characters in Skyrim based on Zelda protagonists and antagonists. Was gonna try and make a 'Zelda' as a mage archer of sorts. We'll see how that works out.
I can't seem to decide on what race to make her though. Blue eyes only seems to apply to Imperial, Nord and Breton. Breton would be nice but their cheeks are ridiculously chubby. And I already got a high elf going. Any creative ideas?
Have you considered wood elf(Bosmer)? They have a strong Archery skill from the get-go, and you could probably manipulate the features to resemble Zelda a bit. Not sure about the eyes though.
I would do Imperial, as the stature of Breton and the fugly face of Nord wouldn't do her justice. Besides that, they are an offensive race, considering Zelda's other side, fits.
I spend entirely too much time watching the dragon circle overhead everytime I'm in Dawnstar.
No idea why, but it takes like 15 minutes to stop flying around.
It keeps happening to me in random places, a dragon overhead which i spend like 10 minutes trying to hit with an arrow and it eventually flys off elsewhere lol. Troll dragon?
Edit: 60 hours in and ive never even been to dawnstar or a few other main places..

Yeah, I really need PC version to make various hair and eye modifications to really make a "fit".
I had to make Midna a high elf, which is fine in stature and arcane affinity, but inaccurate in terms of hair color and skin tone.
Luckily a Nord fits a hardy battle toughened Link quite well surprisingly.
Orc makes a perfect Ganon with the dark skin features, stout nose and bull/boar like features, especially in the jowl. Not to mention orcs already are huge and barbaric in nature.
I'll definitely give Imperial Zelda a spin. The chubby cheeks of a Breton really killed it. And I would do Bosmer for the sake of Zelda's elf ears, but, blood red and glowing orange eyes just kinda offset it completely.

It's not just you. I run into dragons all the time that never touch down. They just fly in circles roaring at me until they get bored and fly off. But their flight patterns are so unpredictable, it makes it difficult to land an arrow or spell on them, especially when they're way up high.
I get those dragons a lot too, I just explain it off as they were just checking me out and sizing me up, not looking for a fight. Anymore, I just keep walking and ignore them until I hear a breath weapon.

Wow, I'm impressed.
Most JP game critics I'd imagine see most western games in the light as over glorified, herp derp, tongue and cheek, hulk smash fashion as most Blizzard games. To take in a game with that bias and still acknowledge how well done it was, impresses me to say the least.
I think it's only fitting that the Chuck Norris WoW advertisement plays below as I post this.
So what's the fastest/funnest way to get alchemy up?
My strategy has been to go to Whiterun->Riverwood->Windhelm->Markarth->Solitude and buy up all the ingredinets from the shops there that sell them. Then inside of Angela's Aromatics in Solitude or whatever its called I just randomly make potions until its all gone.
But alchemy levels up really slowly. It takes me 5-10 minutes to make the rounds to get the ingredients and it seems like it takes 20-40 potions just to raise it one level. (Its 30-ish atm).

Might sound obvious but, make sure you have the Thief guardian stone active as Alchemy is the "craft" of the thief playstyle while Smithing follows Warrior and Enchanting for Mage.
Also I read on the wiki (inb4lolwiki) that skill up rates are determined by the value of the potion made. So spamming something simple like restore stamina won't get you far, while finding more obscure benefits like fortify enchanting or something of the like will hold a higher value and thus better skill ups.
But yeah, best thing to do is harvest and buy everything and just go nuts at the alchemy table.

If they aren't high, a 3 word shout gets their attention. I haven't unlocked it yet, but I wonder if Call Storm will turn them aggressive since they technically aren't a foe until engaged.

Okay, I'll try out the thief stone, makes sense actually, my smithing went up fast as *** but enchanting was slower and now alchemy is the slowest. (I've had warrior this entire time.)
Might also try wearing my Krosis mask, it has 20% Alchemy on it so that should help it, too.

This, and go on a smithing spree before hand, this way you technically level 2 skills while making a go at one (if you haven't already) This allows you to be able to put those good enhancements you acquire on good gear that suits your play style.

Lady Stone is your friend. +15 to all skill ups
This is all good stuff to know. Unfortunately my smithing and enchanting are both already 100. :/
On another note...as far as unlocking ingredients four properties all I have to do is eat it once and then experiment with it alot to unlock the other three?
Yeah, I have a feeling Alchemy of all things is one of those things that always (based on the nature of how it skills up) starts very very slow, but over time gains a snowball effect and will go quickly when you get the skill and perks to make more potent potions.
I also strongly recommend having enchanting leveled before going on any major sprees so you can have some gear with enhanced alchemy to speed up the process and get the ball rolling sooner than you normally would.

If you have access to enchanting gear, could enchant alchemy gear to increase your potion quality for 1) more money and 2) better skill ups, also using your perks as they become available is very helpful.
40+ my skill ups become noticeable, 60+ I was earning gold at a rapid pace, 80+ I had more potions than I could sell between towns and restocking on supplies to make even more potions. I basically just kept buying all the soul gems(filled) in every town and selling potions making back the gold + w/e the barter had left in gold to gain.
i love how abusable alchemy has been throughout the series x3
while not as highly abusable as morrowinds system was, its still extremely easy to get skill ups and gold with it

LOL you said ALCHEMY. I had enchanting in my head for some reason. Lady stone is still your friend, but just pick up any and all ingredients you can find. A great thing to do is go to an area where you've already killed any dangerous hostiles (if you're solely melee carry 1 good weapon just in case). Empty your inventory, and a follower's, then pick everything you can. This should take the better part of an evening, but well worth it. Now, put on that mask (there are elvaan gauntlets that fortify alchemy in Thieves guild coffers, and a necklace floating around as well) and maybe even drink a potion if you can find or buy one.
Just spam ingredients, using 3 with every combination at least once before using just two ingredients. This will allow you to learn alternate (and ultimately more powerful) effects of the ingredients. Work from the bottom of the menu up (this seemingly offers the most expensive potions first, offering better skill ups), until you've exhausted everything you have. Spend the next hour or so selling anything that isn't of use to your character's build. Now you've made a ton of money, and built your alchemy.
Anytime you aren't 100% certain you are going to be filling your inventory, take a few seconds to snag ingredients when you see them. I store them every time I hit my house, that way they don't take up weight, and I don't ever have to have 'farm ingredients' nights. Just an FYI
Bethesda Softworks just announced the fifth game in the Elder Scrolls series and the sequel to The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion will be called Skyrim. And it'll be out next year.
Bethesda's Todd Howard introduced the game with a brief teaser showing a stone dragon and a dramatic narration that sets up the story of the next big role-playing game in the Elder Scrolls series. That teaser also dates Skyrim for November 11, 2011.
I cannot bloody wait. I've always loved the Elder scrolls series since Daggerfall.
