Hit the 74 hour mark today...thought the game was starting to get a little stale on me (been playing nonstop for over two weeks now) but then I escorted this guy all over the map, stopped at a bunch of random dungeons and kicked ***. Then raided some dwemer dungeons and saw Blackreach for the first time. My mind was blown, I had such a great time playing.
Could easily see myself playing this until the end of the year at least. :D
Ok so theres a 2handed katana in the game. Its a daedric relic. With 51 2handed skill and 45 1h skill, it gives me a 14 base damage.Which is low for a 2handed weapon. It also appears to absorb HP per swing.
**Things to note about this weird weapon. After about 10 kills(has to be people who trust you, wont work on just anyone) Youll hear a voice telling you your weapon is fully restored, the only thing that changes is the amount of HP absorbed.
**Seems to be infinite amount of charges
**From finding out which people I need to kill for it(ie guards etc) I was getting skill ups in 2hand
**For whatever reason, 2handed enchants DO NOT work, you will not get any increase from 2handed weapon increases.
** 2handed perks DO NOT work.
**Out of blind luck I found out 1handed enchants DO work.
** 1 handed perks also DO work.
Im not sure if this weapon is bugged or if that was their intentions. As I can see it being very broken as a 1h.
It seems a lot more descriptive about it's enchantment than simply "absorb health". Absorbing life essence, and being strengthened by the Blood of Deceit? Sounds like perhaps the absorb effect is enhanced perhaps by sneaking? Quite the blade and gloves you found there. Where did you find them?
Also my pseudo-samurai build can finally come into fruition!

I just checked out the UESP site to see if it had any more info, doesnt seem so.
However from what I get from the info and can confirm, is that it starts out with absorbing 10 hp from swings, and after restoring it, its 30.
As far as the description, you have to kill people that trust you, meaning friends, companions, and wife/husband all count. I think maybe merchants that you have done favors for? I know guards didnt seem to work. After killing 2 of your friends, each time youll hear a voice, wont be til the 10th that you hear that its been upgraded.
As far as the blade, its a quest from whiterun, given to you by the Banned Mare tav, just go up and keep asking about latests rumors til you hear one about the Jarls children, then just activate it in your journal. I dont know if theres any pre-req. for it to be flagged, hope someone can fill in that info.
As far as the hands go, I enchanted those(base is wolf hands, buy from skyforge smither).
Pretty cool though. Hopefully there's more two handed katanas around somewhere in the game. Preferably base ones that you can enchant as you please.
Yea same, although Im quite fond of dual wielding 2 katanas haha.
You can get a 1h katana early in the game without doing the main quest, all you have to do is have the ability to run like hell, in and out. The enchanting is horrible due to the charges only lasting like 3-5 hits. However being able to walk around with a katana scabbard(saya) is more than enough for me, for my pseudo sam class. I dont get that with 2h sadly.
Maybe a dumb question but wouldn't the easier way to tell if it is a 1h or 2h sword be to just try and equip a shield or off-hand with it? Also, any idea if killing a horse you own counts?
You equip it with 2hands, using a 1handed weapon or shield with it, will not work. This is where its oddity comes from in that it acts as a 2handed weapon, skills up like one, I assume the skill determines its base aswell, but as far as enchants/perks go, it recieves them from 1handed....so yea.

Can you own more than 1 horse at a time?(ie have 2 horses, dumb question but thought Id ask)
edit: Killed 3horses just now, nothing, reloaded, killed the barter in riverwood +Lydia, daedric voice approval~, safe to say horsed dont count.
Also something to note, while I was on the run from riverwood due to openly killing the barter and running it, I was stopped by the guards at Whiterun, picked "Im the Yarls w/e" and got scott-free from my crime. I dont think I lost anything nor did I have to pay(they mentioned to look away from it) didnt know that was an option, not sure if I return to riverwood if Ill still have a bounty though, but just a heads up~
idk bout the double horse, mine i bought died pretty quick, but Shadowmere from the brotherhood quests has been a lot better to me
regens and charges enemies XD
Also dunno about the horse, I just got 100 enchanting though so I am running around getting Grand Souls atm, once I am done with that I will try and buy some horses if you haven't already.

Yeah I just editted my post. I didnt check about having more than 1 horse, although when I killed mine, I couldnt buy a new one, I fast warped to another city, bought one, killed it and returned to the previous city before hand and I could then buy a horse again. Not sure if you can have a horse in each city though?(provided you dont fast warp to one with a horse)

you're only able to do that once, i killed a buncha people in riverwood cus i was bored... then doing that completely erased the bounty i had in whiterun. but it wouldn't let me do it a second time ;; so i had to kill all the guards...
Is there any sort of Fortify Enchantment? Figure I should ask before I go and blow my soul load all over my nice pimped out armor (200% smithing buff woot).
Bah just read about the enhance alchemy to enhance enchant to enhance alchemy to enhance.... loop... I think ill pass lol
So I did the 'Everyone STFU so I can deal with the dragons' path and felt like I missed half the game. Next round I'm going to Purge the Imperial Scum before I even get started on the main quest.
The 'get out of jail free card' has to do with being Thane of that hold. You get Thane'd for Whiterun just by following the main quest, then you can do 3 or 4 quests in each hold and get Thane'd in those too. Probably the best acknowledgement of completionistic tendencies in most RPGs...
By the way there's apparently a dialogue option related to these, which I found in the console: "I dun got Thane'd!"
Lydia's pissing me off! she won't equip anything i give her that's better than steel ***D:<
From what I can tell Lydia's a Heavy Armor user so her upgrades that she uses are classified as Heavy Armor and she won't equip light armor even if it's better. It also seems she will equip 2-Hand weapon over 1 Hnd and equip the very last higher class weapon given. I noted as well she will use magic staffs as a top priority dual casting the mofos I was like hold these and the *** went crazy with em lol. She can be given Neck and ring pieces as well to use.
Yeah trolls and ***now just seem to make her mad as she races off screaming at them "I will Kill you" and now usually does.
Lastly give her a single arrow and she will use that mofo infinite times and you can pick them up off of mobs pretty sweet. I make sure to check her at times when she is hit my arrows she pulls em out and starts using those lol...

Guys i just got merried in this game, but after the wedding my wife disapered. I went to my breezehome to find her, but she wasn't there, but lydia was in there. Maybe thats why? cause perhaps you can only have one person in your home at a time? Any ideas where she could be... I even whent to her house and wasn't in there, looked around town and nothing yet hmm...

You can have them both, who did you marry? They will usually go back to their normal spawn point and you have to tell them to live in your house before they will move in. I got lucky and caught Aela and told her that before she walked out of the church.
Forgot her name, kinda rushed it lol. It started witha V though, and saw her around the fruit stand sellers in the middle of town. Windlum or something like that.

No there isn't a Fortify Enchantments for armor in the game, because they figured it would quickly be used to make a Forty Enchantments +50000000%. Why they didn't figure out that this would be used with the potion, I have no idea.

How did you get 200%? o.o
I have a ring and gloves that give +12% and I know there's a potion for +20%.
Bethesda Softworks just announced the fifth game in the Elder Scrolls series and the sequel to The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion will be called Skyrim. And it'll be out next year.
Bethesda's Todd Howard introduced the game with a brief teaser showing a stone dragon and a dramatic narration that sets up the story of the next big role-playing game in the Elder Scrolls series. That teaser also dates Skyrim for November 11, 2011.
I cannot bloody wait. I've always loved the Elder scrolls series since Daggerfall.
