Except for the guy masturbating to the scans.. Don't you think this is getting a bit outta hand? Do any of you guys actually fly anywhere? The scanner sends a non-detailed scan to a closed room where a guy may or may not be jerking it, no one actually sees it, you and the viewer never come face-to-face, and it's alot faster than individual pat-downs.
what do you mean "non-detailed?" the images released to the public as well as those pilfered from the federal courthouse (with matching normal picture) in orlando are degraded from what the actual scan shows. the guys in the back with < hands > in < trousers >, < jerkin > are looking at crystal clear 3d images of you with a single color (shaded for detail) skin. they basically see you naked but with a thin layer of body paint
how do you know this?
not trying to "prove you wrong", in the least so don't go on a tangent explaining your values, specifically where did you get this information, I am curious about that.

I don't think they'd let you on the plane if you refuse to get scanned. (From what I've been seeing and reading). So if it prevents a terrorist from boarding a plane (either when he gets caught during the scanning or refuses) then all is good. Of course, It's all random so there is the chance of him boarding the plane.

Needs stricter rules. I think everybody should be scanned or patted down.

Besides, as someone pointed out earlier, flying on an airplane isn't your freedom nor is it your right, it's a privilege. Just like driving a car or motorcycle.
I think they should start patting down kids at highschools so they don't have any more Columbines.

*** Virginia Tech

and to the TSA thing, it is your right to not be illegally searched, these methods are violating your right, and I'm glad NJ is taking steps to prevent it's citizens rights from being violated and the molesters will be prosecuted if they continue these violations of an individuals rights. As to the right to fly thing, you have a right to do anything as long as you aren't violating another person's rights or there isn't a law (federal or state, or locality) against it. TSA regulation =/= law.

One thing real quick. There's a difference between attacks on airlines and school shootings. Once the terrorists have control of an airliner or blow it up, there's nothing you can do to save the lives of the people onboard. Once someone starts shooting up a school, everyone goes inside and locks their doors and the police come to deal with it. Granted he may have hostages, there's still preventive actions that can be taken to control the damage of the attack. When there is thousands of feet between you and the ground, there isn't. Different types of attacks require different precautions.

so are you saying pat-downs wouldn't help to prevent shooters to enter the building?
it's not like they are patting them down and scanning them on the plane man.

Read this.

You realise it's been 9 years since 9/11. 9 years without TSA sexually assaults people in the name of freedom. How many terrorists have hi-jacked airplanes in the U.S and crashed them in to buildings since 9/11?

As far as I know, none.

nine years later this whole bs with TSA shows up. And all of a sudden everyone's a terrorist who's gonna hi-jack planes?

I'm pretty sure the TSA has been there and groping people for quite a while, it's just 9 years later everyone decides to make a big stink about it.
They didn't make a big deal about it after 9/11 because we were being protected against the tourists, the only thing different is that the sheeples have a different target to project their disdain and fears towards since they didn't really do all that well with the whole osama deal.
i'm not saying it's outrageous to be outraged by this.
i think it's just kind a funny that there are so many flip-flops floating around in the states.

Mogue, if this is the beginning of a snowball effect across states, then yes New Jersey will have effectively done something about the TSA.

If it is not, then you might be right.

There have been many attempts tho (i.e. Underwear bomber that I posted earlier, which was 2009 Christmas, just one Year ago! If he managed not to get caught, imagine what would happen.)

besides, maybe the government found something like more terrorist plots and they're trying to prevent them this way whereas the citizens don't like it, since it's random, and god forbid they got picked for a screening or pat down randomly.

You people need to seriously think. Wouldn't you rather get that slight better chance of not having a loved one die thanks to a terrorist? Wouldn't you rather not have another 9/11 happen?

Read the first three pages with various morons cheering over this "legislation" that means absolutely nothing with out one person pointing out the obvious reason why it means absolutely nothing.

As a result, snide comments to said cheering section is all i can come up with atm.

I've always found well placed sarcasm can work better than an insult :P
did you read the part about the Bricker Amendment?
I'd imagine it'd be pretty relevant(hingepoint), on your specific argument.

Bricker Amendment:
This proposed amendment would have mandated that all American treaties shall not conflict with the manifest powers granted to the Federal Government.

Subsequent Federal court cases such as Seery v. United States, 127 F. Supp. 601 (Court of Claims, 1955), Diggs v. Schultz, 470 F.2d 461 (1972), and Reid v. Covert, 354 U.S. 1 (1957) have, over the course of time, established in legal decisions most of the limitations that had been proposed by the Bricker Amendment.

Personally I would rather have another 9/11 happen than our liberties violated, for the same reason a lot of people would rather die than be a slave.

That being said violating our rights isn't the way to "prevent" a "terrorist attack"

Petition has probably been posted before, didn't read the whole thread.

@Kalyna/Kojo

How's America going to make sure a terrorist dont board a plane in Italy, hi-jack the plane right before it lands in america and crash it wherever they want?

Gonna force TSA on the rest of the world as well? Or just close the borders for everyone, everywhere?
