Trying To Buy FFXI Comp

it SHOULD work alright. You may get a little lag tho.

I'd actually look at a laptop, while it may look like a laptop it actually is considered a netbook as the page states. They have the ability to access wireless networks and browse the internet as well as perform many similar tasks a regular laptop can, but the processing power isn't there. I haven't kept current with advancements in netbooks so it may possibly be able to run it but you may want to look at something like this.

900+ is a big jump from the laptop she/he posted. Possibly they were looking for a cheap option?

Yes I know it's a big jump, and I don't know the price range he's looking for but what he showed may not have the ability to run XI decently. I installed XI on my laptop I got earlier this year which had some pretty decent specs with an i3 Pentium Processor 4GB Ram and such. When I ran the benchmark I got horrible results and when I played the game it was decent but not great by any standards. So looking at the specs that this netbook has (which is inferior to the laptop I occasionally run XI on) just don't want someone to pay round $300 install and get horrible results when you can save some money and get a decent laptop which can be utilized for more uses down the road when you're done with the game.

damn lol....yah im not really looking to pay 900+ for a labtop I looked at some other labtops but I dont know which one would be decent would be nice if someone can check this out and tell me if these are decent comps for ffxi

To answer your question, the cheap one on that page you just linked would work just fine, as long as the v-card is compatible.

Graphics wise do you think it will at least look like if I was playing on Xbox.

First one on the comparison page seems to be pretty decent I'd also look into what type of warranty is offered, but it seems like a decent pc and should easily run XI.

Edit: Looking at the other one, it also seems quite capable of running XI...either would be a good choice for playing XI, either could be a decent choice, all depends on how much you willing to pay.

That all depends on how you change the video settings (resolution etc.) in config. You will need to sacrifice performance to gain better visual appeal. If you want to crank up the resolution you will need a decent video card.
