Recently I have been reading through various forums on FFXIVPRO.com, Zam, and YG. And I kept coming across this level cap formula someone threw out there so I decided to give it a shot.

[(Rank * 2) + 32] = stat cap level......... say what????????

I tried this on my naked level 30 Gladiator, and put my VIT at 92 like the formula said, however I had extra points so I bumped it up to 93 to see if there was a gain... and what do ya know I saw a HP GAIN!!!!!!
So in my opinion this formula is complete crap!

I then reassigned some points and increased my VIT 1 point at a time from 90 points until I hit 106 VIT. I saw HP gains at each point up until 106, at 107 VIT there was no longer any gain.

I also tested this with MIND via second wind. I saw a increase of +3 hp every heal in respect for every 5 points I put into MIND (***Healers make note of this***). However after 107 MIND I no longer saw any heal gains.

Thus concluding that all stats must have the same cap, and cap out in respect to job rank.

At Rank 30 that cap just so happens to be 106.

The previous formula of [(Rank * 2) +32] was ok for getting you in the ball park for your job ranks stat cap. So I decided to hone the formula and get it as close to the actual cap as possible.
An let me tell you the previous formula had a huge margin of error which I will demostrate below using my class rank.

Old formula: [(30 * 2) + 32] = 92.0000

My Formula : [(30 * 2.466669) + 32] = 106.0007

My formula brought me to my rank stat cap, and there is a huge difference between the two. In this case it was a 14 point difference!!!

Also keep in mind when using this formula to round down. I have tested this on 3 other lower level jobs (20Mrd, 15Lnc, and 17Pug) and noticed that all decimal remainders are in the positive meaning that what ever number is before the decimal is the respective rank stat cap.

Excellent work, did the count for my 24 GLA, pretty dead on I believe. (Maybe off by 1 or 2, but it's was basically right on the money though.

I have my own formula and I doubt the opener's formula is right, but I thank you for your effort in helping the community!

I noticed it takes more and more vit to cap as you level (I've been capping my vitality every single level until R42) I never really paid attention to how many i needed at what rank, but I'd raise it until my hp stopped moving.

My guess would be First 30 ranks is 2.5*rank +31 , then after 30 its 3.5*rank

So at R42 I'm supposed to have 30*2.5 + 31 = 106 + 12*3.5 = 148

which is my actual cap (148) and that formula would work for everyone that posted before me.

With X, which is your rank it makes:
X<30 : X * 2.5 + 31
X>30 : 30 * 2.5 + (X-30) * 3.5 + 31

Hope it works for everyone!

http://www.ffxivcore.com/topic/14990-point-allotment-caps/

At r34 cap is 118
OP formula = 115
Aegies formula = 106+14 = 120
My formula = 116
catch22atplay formula = 119
catch22atplay formula (ROUND) = 116

I'm thinking that for the purposes of calculation, rank 1 is actually a 0.

So my theory is let RANK = DISPLAY_RANK-1:

(FLOOR((RANK-1)/8,1)*2+32) + MAX((RANK-1)*2,0) + (FLOOR(MAX(RANK-16,0)/2,1)*2)

Or:

(FLOOR((DISPLAY_RANK-2)/8,1)*2+32) + MAX((DISPLAY_RANK-2)*2,0) + (FLOOR(MAX(DISPLAY_RANK-17,0)/2,1)*2)

But I prefer the first way of writing it.

It seems to be within +/- 2 of the known figures for rank 1-43 on that edit:FFXIVCore thread, so one of the other is wrong (probably my formula). It gives a cap at 50 of 172 though, which is 12 under the reported value, so maybe there is a 4th component somewhere that kicks in for the last few ranks.

Edit: Just stripped naked but for my undies and weap on rank 23 pug and tested vit cap, it's 84 which is exact for my formula. Does anyone know the effect of gear on cap? E.g. if you have vit+2 do you need 2 less vit to cap?

We are assuming VIT from gear does not accept cap.

What I have discovered is caps from HP/MND are much lower than the caps for other things such as defense and cure.

I've capped my MND but when I add in more and be well over 10-15 points beyond cap of MP, my Heal continues to grow, slowly.

We know VIT and MND from gear does not affect HP and MP so we're assuming the caps are seperate because of them 2 facts i just stated
