I prefer GH over SS aswell, way more consitent damage.

For pure melee power, Apoc+A/O+RR is best

Whats the usual numbers to expect from CDC anyway? I recently got it and I've only been doing 1.7k~3k. Anyone wanna help me out if I'm doing something wrong D:?

I havent been that much on BLU after I got the sword really, but on NQ mobs I seem to do 2.5-5k, with spikes up to 6k now and then(rarely)
Avarage seems to be around 3k+
Highest I've done on easy nms (seal farming) is 5.9k, avarage beeing a bit lower than on normal NQ mobs.
Only really went blu to higher tier nms a few times, most recently Ulhuduashi so I'll use that as an example.
From what I can remember, 1.5-2k avarage, with highest spike at like 3.3k, but I were using RR VV Apoc for the regain, so I could just run in and ws :P

But yeah, I havent been too much on the job, and this is all eyeballed, but I like to round down, rather than pull massive numbers out of my ***.
I've been playing around a bit in sea on RDM\NIN too, while farming JoFort pops, and I seem to do 1-2.4k CDCs on DCish mobs up there.

If you can't use A&O, SS and GH are pretty similar. SS is slightly ahead for melee damage and has the obvious benefit of more HP, but GH improves your Benthic Typhoon damage and may also reduce TP feed.

3kish average is pretty standard for EXP mobs with no zerk/stalwart's, more or less depending on atma choice and gear. More with buffs, less on NMs obviously.

Yeah I am feeling that heck I focus more now on my BT damage and use CDC to setup BT or CDC when BT CA isnt ready using GH/RR/SS damage is pretty incredible... I have to use reraise earrings now since no apoc and crap but mobs don't stay alive long to dot much tho....

Oh yeah one caveat is one shot mob can mean no lights >.>



Oh and just changing Atmas still allow easy AOE farming with out much issue CA+ Efflux + Whirl of Rage -> Dream Flower -> buffs -> BA + Charged Whisker still owns even /thf I had little issue killing packs of mobs.

I just got Almace 85 last night and I was hoping to get some advise on gear upgrades between certain items. Here is what I currently have:


I'm working on Alcide's Mitts +1, Loki's Kaftan, Maat's Cap/Aias Bonnet but I was wondering if there was something else I could upgrade until I can get those that would be worth it.

Edit: Can't believe I forgot Epona's Ring I'm also working on ^^ Also STR Magian Sword I just keep missing Firesday.

Edit2: I have Mirage Bazubands would those beat out the 12 ATK?

Not going to lie, blu can get pretty good +dex and still maintain a good +att build for CdC. Your build currently is "ok" for starters, but I would definitely change out the str earring for a dex or +att one. as for using Mirage over tarasque that would be hard choice as it depends on situation usually. Personally I don't like being too heavy on att or dex so try to keep a balance between the two with all the gear options blu has, but I still keep additional options at hand for various situations also.

I'm happy with alcide+1 hands/feet but others seem to favor Lith boots. This is my current set


Neck I occasionally will use love torque or kibura beads for extra dex (though the added acc from gorget seems to help at times over extra dmg). Jupiters has a +4att augment on it, and I have both dex/acc or str/att shamshir +2 to pick between depending on what I am fighting. This puts my blu at +76~96dex and +541~520att depending on what I choose to use without food.

Basically get what you know is missing and really need that sword its just to sweet and a earring Etherals is even nice and your pretty good for sure Loki's and eponas both should be HIGH on get that ***now list lol.

Basically each pt of dex is gonna correlate to damage same as will each pt of attack now for some reason I can't find what the dex vs attack correlation is lol..... Each pt of dex is equal to each X points of attack.

Also casting Triumph Roar before you WS really ups the damage nicely. Oh and for BNS RR/Omni/SS is pretty insane >.>

I have a few questions on what i should use to finish my set off that I havent seen much of.
Here is the set I currently have


Now I'm working on getting Alcide's +1 feet (although curious is Lithe stands up to them outside) and Raja's/Eponas as I get the chance. Also working on a DA+10 Khanda for offhand. Figured it would do more inside/outside than either OaT choices. Have a STR Shamshir in the makings (about halfway done) in case the situation arrives.

Now I'm curious if I should work on Snow Gorget or get Ancient's torque. Looking mostly for outside Abyssea stuff. I haven't seen anything posted on Ancients yet. If gil wasn't a problem, would it be worth it? or just stick to finishing Snow Gorget?

Edit: Oh one thing I forgot, would it be better to use Aias Bonnet or stick in Mavi Kavuk +2, especially when SCing. Wasnt sure if the CA bonus stays after you switch the head piece around and back into Mavi before the spell goes off.

Keep +2 head on for the CA spell in question, aias bonnet on everything else unless your acc is funky for some reason...

can't comment too much on the other stuff, have to check your tp returns and compare with what you're using CdC on; you said outside abbsyea stuff at 90 there isn't really much that evades very well cept voidwatch nms without food, ancient wouldn't be bad if means you stay using meat vs hi end nms. For lithe and mirage vs alcide depends on if attacked is capped former if it is, the latter if it's not.

epona's is great for ws and rajas

Can also quest a jupiter's ring with +5? attack.

Didn't they nerf that quest? It's alot harder than it used to be to get a Jupiter's with those augments.

Dunno honestly, I haven't done it since I got mine.

Hoping some blues can help me on 2-3 questions on CDC sets.

Funny thing is, at 75 cap I was one of the best geared blu's in the game, but I only have 4 items in that gear set.

I've only recently started taking BLU seriously, I got bored of ninja to a certain degree.

just finished the lv85 trial and whipped up somein' to get me by

Alcide's mitts, brutal earring, cuchulain's belt, atheling mantle, rancor collar. All reasonably cheap and easy to get.

Longer term: epona's ring, moonshade earring, toci's harness, +1 head to go with the harness.

Epona and moonshade still easy to get, the other two are harder by a considerable margin just due to drop rates.
