Mobs gain levels just as we do. New content mobs will require higher accuracy caps. To say that accuracy will no longer be needed is a bogus statement.
At 99, nobody will need gear haste. Just you wait.

Capping JA haste perhaps!? It could happen for all jobs!

A much reduced level certainly. Honestly, I was willing to give SE a chance to make this game work for lvl 99 but the mechanics of the game were built for 75 cap. This game is a complete *** disaster now, and will only be worse at 99.

Oh, I wholeheartedly agree. Which is why I'm so quick to make jokes.

Ninja-Buff: spell haste cap gets 20% more!

Ninja-Nerf: gear haste cap is reduced to 6%!

Haste II for RDM !? March III!? CORSAIR ROLLS OF WHATEVER!?!?

Nah. They'll give everyone amazing new Haste abilities, but not raise the cap so that jobs essentially have no reason to synchronize together anymore.

I mean, that's what happened to WoW. <_<

Apoc can heal, can skillchain Darkness, and can even Magic burst them Drain IIs if he's really in the mood. He's an interesting fellow, that Apoc.

On a more serious note: DRK tanking is still good/fun...

I think drk tanking is about the only practical application of the job these days. Zerging is sort of dead, other jobs are better DDs, but there are no other jobs that match drk's hate tools. Even without apoc its a solid tank.

I've always felt DRK has had an identity crisis. It's weapon and gear choices, and stat allocation seem to suggest it as the "Prime" melee fighter, next to warrior. While the intended design is that of a "Warrior, which saps the strength of others" or sort of a Warrior with Effective Enfeeble/Buffs, but the mechanics of the game limit the usefulness of all but a select few spells, and the Weapon Skill choices are generally inferior.

And then you have DRK's potentially unintentional tanking prowess, which is why I always like DRK/NIN over DRK/SAM.

DRK seems to be the "Red Mage" of DD, minus the notion of a true specialization, that Red mage has from Enfeebling power. It winds up excelling in situations where numbers are tight, but is utterly lost in large groups with room for dedicated specialists. (Warrior, Samurai, Ranger, Paladin ect).

SE needs to carve a niche for the job, focusing around the unique position it has with Dark Magic. Endark was a good start, but the first step in a race that ended 3 years ago isn't particularly reassuring.

Yea I think drks strength is definately its versitility. I wouldnt take an alliance of drks to evetns but id definately bring a few to round out the ally.

What is the current state of the SE/BW zerg these days? Does it work on much? Absolute rape with abyssea buffs? Or is it just not necessary to kill the lolNMs of today?

To my knowledge the concept of zerging is dead. Souleater BW is still good for gaining hate fast but its not important for any fight anymore.

along the basis of Apoc's WS, it's not always about your personal performance but the performance of a group. if you're closing/opening (darkness?) skillchains with, ionno whatever, sam or mnk then that WS easily pulls ahead of guillo and you gain the effects of the aftermath.

when i'm on sam i strive to make skillchains, and i do it without any tp overflow. you can spam gekko all day aiight, cool, nice numbers but when i pull of a skillchain and it happens to be magic bursted with my sengikori, that's some nice damage. if you're lowman have your rdm throw a magic burst in there. dmg is dmg, wherever it comes from.

The main issue of DRK is that there is an "hidden" rule where you can't use souleater whenever it's up. If a drk has good enough healers to deal with him poping souleater for a whole min whenever it's up, you have there one monstruous DD.
sadly though, there are no such healers.

If your mage cant heal you when you use souleater then they suck. Even more so these days cause SE has turned this game into even more of a joke than most of us thought they could.

Ironic.
In general, I find Excelior's commentary to be dimwitted and nonsensical.
If you want to talk about "*** nonsense", then suggesting that a Scythe with 130 base DMG and accuracy +30 is "dead" or "nothing special" ... that's "*** nonsense". Dumb-***.

Yeah, yeah. Blow me. I'm working on a number of upgrades to this set currently. ***takes time. It's still a quality SAM setup as is. Even if it wasn't, that doesn't "disqualify" my opinions on this topic.

I'll be sure to file your overly judgmental commentary under the "douchebag" folder.
