Getting to 55 on rng, 100%TP shows up, "Shaidolas Readies Sidewinder" "Shaidolas misses", yeah brought a tear to my eye.

Was it with an Vali's or Eurytos' Bow? If not, then it doesn't really matter anyways.

My proudest moment would have to be getting my Emp. Hairpin and Leaping boots within 30 minutes. My THF was lvl 50 at the time... I had previously farmed LL, was 0/15, but right when I got there to wait for pop I got it and it dropped! I was like "OMGWTFNOWAI!" then I was in such a good mood that I decided to go camp VE. I rode a choco there and right when I got there it spawned! I barely claimed it right before a mob of people tried to Provoke it.. Killed, dropped... All within 30 minutes! 1/1 on emp. It was insane, I was so happy

I have a couple.
"Proudest Moment" as in the time I've felt best about myself?
It has to be back a couple years ago in Valkurm Dunes when I was bringing my PLD (or something) through. There was this BRD. Seemed like an upbeat, kind person. Really into his job and didn't have much cash. So, I gave him my Mary's Horn thinking he'd get way more use out of it then I ever did.
Guy turned out to be a bit of a jerk, and never talked to me again after that. But, it was nice for the time being.

Another would be my Enhancing Sword.
I camped Bune for 21 days straight with Aoshi and some friends. I had pretty much everyone I knew help me out at some point.
One night, Bune's window was heading into the time I promised I'd do Salvage with someone. Deciding I'd stick with my promise and give up my Enhancing Sword dream, I went off to Salvage. They decided to stay and camp. Ten minutes after I leave, it pops. They claim, kill, and it drops.
Next thing I know, they're trading it to me. ^^ That was an awesome night.

Also my Altruistic Cape.
Went up to sea on a free night with some friends to do Ix's. Something like four hours later, it goes down, and the cape drops. Despite the fact that two of them had both SCH and BLM leveled, they passed on it for me saying I'd get the most benefit.

I think my best moment in my whole FFXI Career and ALWAYS will be..

Is when I did a CoP set after so much brutal time staying up doin absolutely nothing, finally paid off with the same LS for awhile.

Doing a run during the Ouryu BCNM at Lv.50 I think it was?

On that BCNM, our RDM had hit dispel on lag, and landed on Warp by accident.
Ive never laughed. So hard.. on a BCNM run.
Of course, we died. But I couldnt stop laughing for 5 minutes.
I needed a few minutes to get away from the screen, and just laugh my *** til I rolled over and could calm down.

As bad as it was that we died, Id say that was my proudest moment.
Laughing so hard with my party doing that run.
Best time of my FFXI career.

Finally beating Ouryu and laughing til my stomach hurt.
2 for 1, but the best night in my FFXI life~

I just solo'd Faust on my RDM/NIN, no W Legs or anything most people say is required. I am so proud right now because I consider it the hardest thing I have EVER done in this game, if not most games.

I feel like a fully-fledged solo RDM...

Hmm, my ouryu fight, I dc'd. Came back and somehow logging in pulled hate. Ouryu spike flailed us...

1. same =) me too, 1/3 on rdm maat @lv69, the chainspell nuke/stoneskin/blink tank method, killed in just under 2mins.

2. Back in the day when my social did bcnm40 Steamed Sprouts (the mandies) - we were so excited that we won and Utsusemi:Ni dropped, but we ran out of the zone and totally forgot to lot it. We ended up gaining the crappiest items from auto-drop in the treasure pool, and losing the scroll; called a GM to see if it could be returned, but no luck XD

Beating Maat as loldrk with a greatsword.

That or a jellyring run with some ls mates, loldrk, loldrk, pld, whm, smn. We had aggro from about 3 or 4 other mobs (we were spread out to try and get the pop) and when we all came together it was chaos, myself and then other loldrk had slept our mobs thinking we would have enough time/be far enough away to not worry about them until the nm was dead....we didnt. No one died but it came very very close to it.

It was just one of those battles you lol at at the time while your heart pounds.

How about:

1. The first time I ever traveled via Airship... I ran around /shouting all kinds of crap on deck.
2. Getting my Sirocco Kukri in a most diabolical fashion. (RDM and NIN tried duoing, RDM took too much hate and zoned, which lifted the tag. Mug claim FTW.) It's definitely my favorite fight thus far.
3. Watching my roommate have her *** handed to her by Maat quite a bit, then I tried it for fun and went 1/1.
4. Doing my own Maat fight as 66BLM, just cause everyone told me not to :x
5. Becoming the much hated *** of my LS and essentially causing a holocaust.

Finally, and most importantly, repurchasing my crap Black Mage gear in an effort to finish what I started!

Being alive still;

& Owning one of the most considered expensive POL accounts in the whole gaming industry.

Sorry, I eavesdropped that information from someone talking to my brother before.

Without a doubt, my proudest moment is when I got Joyeuse.

At that time, it was believed to have an 8 hour long window, with both Mantas being a PH, so I worked out that after 60 PH mobs, it should have popped 100% (since I knew ToD).
So I started killing, and after having spent days down there in SSG, my friends recognized my determination and came to my aid.

We started killing both Mantas in quick succession and I started counting in /p after every PH kill.
1, 2, 3, 4,... 22, 23, 24, ... 38, 39, 40,....

It was 8pm when we started killing, on a weekday, and quickly it became later and later.
Around 2am, people started feeling tired, but I was confident in my calculations, and we kept going.
55, 56, 57, 58, 59....

Of course, it was nearly 4am by then, and I redid my calculations a hundred times by then. I kept my friends up to 4am because of a mistake? Did I mess up with the ToD? Surely, he wouldn't pop on the last PH? I was seriously doubting myself, when my friends still believed in me, staying at my side.

Then is was time for the 60th PH pop... it was a Devil Manta...
Never in my life, I felt so bad, lol. Clearly, I messed up somewhere in my ToD, and had six of my friends waste 8 hours of their life, not to mention keeping them up to 4am when they had to get up for work/school in 3-4 hours. I made peace with the fact that I would NEVER see Joyeuse, since I screwed up my best chance, and said in /p: "I am so sorry guys, I must have made a mistake somewhere, I feel so bad."

But then, not 2 seconds after I pressed enter, Charydbis popped, right on the 2nd PH time, and one of my friends claimed (I admit, I was too stunned to do anything for a few seconds).

I was so happy. Mostly because I didn't waste my friends' time, lol.
Of course, I found out soon after, that I started counting after each death, while I should have counted on each pop, making Charybdis the 60th pop, right on time.

Now, my Joytoy is my most precious item. Not only because it's awesomeness, but mostly because it reminds me, every single time I equip it, the value of friendship, having people sacrifice their good nights rest in blind faith. That means more to me than any item ^^;

Disclaimer: It seems the whole idea about when Charybdis pops has changed, which means we just got lucky, lol, but meh, semantics.

Finally getting Rain Hat after month of camping, went 1/2. Now I'm 2/4 on my personal goal: Getting Peacock Amulet, Rain Hat, Carect Ring, Zoredonite Ring. Yes, I love camping Nms, one big reason I like FF XI. ^^ Btw, I'm 0/2 on Carect Ring.

Oh yeah, your character must be worth millions, what with your 4 crappy unmerited jobs, no crafts, no missions complete and hardly any gear...

I guess mine would be soloing a VT troll in Mount Zhayolm, It took about 1hr 42 mins as dnc/nin but it was well worth the time.

Mine was banging Cil. She's soooo hawt....

Not a "proudest moment" but one that's got me doing backflips on the inside recently, is finally getting Promyvion - Mea done. After quite a few failures previously due to bad party setup, and spending 2 hours getting a group assembled this last time, we finally got in there and finished it off. Hopefully we can repeat next week on the other two...

Prolly not a big deal to most, but not having them done has been hanging over my head for 3 years now. Finally making some progress on that crap made my week ^^

Ah when I first got to Valkrum dunes *Noob* Me and my boy Maltos was waiting for pt in selbina. A party zones in and they start to count down. Just then they all drop dead. Me and maltose stand on their dead bodies and lolz. At the time being new to the game that had to be the funniest ***I seen. They sent us tells telling us what *** we are for finding joy in their deaths.

I am one of those "gimps" that didn't complete it 4 years ago. How many good CoP pick up's have you had? Mine have been pretty damn shitty...and how many people really wanna do that ***multiple times? Thank God I have an LS with enough people that's willing to help with that ***, cause lord knows no one else ever will.

I think SE needs to work on the rewards for people helping. The Crystalline Prophecy gave the non solo missions great replayability because of all the augmented rings. Most people that did CoP before the NERF are probably anticipating a long drawn out nightmare with a gimpy XP reward for helping out.

I think CoP should have remained unnerfed and the reward for helping others should have been greatly increased. 7500 XP should be the minimum. I think 10,000 Xp for most of those missions would be more fair, and SE could simply make it to where you can only do that once every conquest tally and only if at least one person in the party needs the mission.

They could also offer rewards per person that's completing it for the first time. If you are helping 3 people completion Airship battle you get, say.... 5k per person for 15k xp for completion.

Greater reward would be great...SOME kind of enticement to get people willing to help nubs with it. We shouted the other night (a friday) for 2 HOURS to get 2 more people. We were 4/6 with a PLD, BLU, RDM, and WHM. All we needed was 2 freaking DD's...and yeah, 2 hours.

But S-E needs to do something. I know all those peeps that did it the hard way will prolly be irritated, but this level cap ***that has been around for as long as CoP has is *** ridiculous to do at this point. If I'd have jumped on the bandwagon back in 05 when I had just started out it'd be a different story...but I was busy learning how to play the game, let alone trying to do CoP and RotZ ***.
