Does anyone have the unpatched 9.06 exe so I can update this? Me rove you rong time? Nevermind, I didn't see it earlier in this thread.

Even with the backup in place, I'm getting "11000 Version update failed.3:40009,20013,20003" Anyone know of a fix that doesn't involve re-installing everything?

With the mouse patch installed, when I hit the "Play" button to boot up the game, it instantly closes. Any way to remedy this problem? I can't play the game with the patch active :(
Running on Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit

Uh, i tried running the patch and it's saying it can't find the file. Is what im looking for in a different file that the one i've been using to pull torrents from?
Edit: It is in fact in the main directory :D

I think it defaults to C:\Program Files\SquareEnix\FINAL FANTASY XIV Beta Version
If you're running a x64, it'll be Program Files (x86)

It would seem that Square didn't want people to use this wonderfull tool. It worked great until i installed the new patch (D2010.09.07.2001.patch) and then reran the mouse patcher. The game works fine but the mouse patcher seems to have no effect with the latest patch. Please update asap, I won't go back to Software mouse control ever again, lol. Seriously though, great work on the original just needs an update.

Okay, this doesn't have anything to do with this thread, but I'm putting it out there for anyone who is getting this error and thinks it's part of this patch: IT'S NOT. REBOOT YOUR COMPUTER.
Unfortunately, instead of the easy fix of rebooting your computer, I uninstalled only to find out that the same problem persists. So now I have to re-download the client. Sigh....

It's the universal symbol for "hacker". I believe they call it a "slider" or a "glider"?

Ya, I already said on page 4 lol.
It's called the glider and shows association with hackers, white collar hackers would be more appropriate. Of course I looked it up afterwards to make sure I answered correctly lol.

Awesome job as always Cliff. Seems to help the game's overall bad performance a bit. Though I noticed something weird, when you use right click to move the camera around, it's really jerky. Not frame rate loss (at least according to FRAPS fps display), just really jerky camera movement. =(

Isn't from the hardware mouse patch though, just bad coding.

The game crashes for me whenever I try to move with the mouse patched in.
By voltron1 2010-09-07 23:41:52
Wow. This patch makes the game playable! Actually, VERY playable. Who woulda thunk it!!??
C'mon SE, wake up to your ridiculous oversights.
Hi,
Note: This is super experimental and I have no idea if this will work for you. Even if it does, it will most certainly stop working after the next update.
I think I fixed mouse lag in FFXIV. Turns out that there is a hardware mouse mode in FFXIV, and so I wrote a patch to enable it.
The patch is available here: http://static.ffxiah.com/ffxiv/FFXIVMousePatcher.exe - For game version 2010.09.12.2000 ONLY!
Put the patcher in the same directory as ffxivgame.exe (i.e. in the main FFXIV program folder). Make sure that you have the latest game version before applying the patch (currently the patch only works on whatever the latest version is). Make sure to make a backup of the original, because the patcher won't do it for you.
After it's done, you should have smooth mouse action. This DOESN'T fix input lag caused by low frame rate, but it does make the game playable...whereas before I couldn't stand it.
Please test and let me know if it works for you. If it does I'll work on a more robust patcher that survives version updates.
UPDATE: If SE updates the game version, you will get an error 'An update error has occurred - 20524' as it is applying the patch. When this happens, simply move your backup ffxivgame.exe file back into place and run the game again. It will succeed. After that succeeds, you can re-patch with the new version of the mouse patch above.
Don't have a backup? I'll let you slide this time and provide a downgrade patch so that your install isn't broken. Next time, back up!
http://static.ffxiah.com/ffxiv/FFXIVMouseUnpatcher.exe - This is ONLY for downgrading a patched game version 2010.09.05.2000 to unpatched 2010.09.05.2000 for people who didn't make a backup.
