I don't want to be an *** or anything, but I'm not sure how effective internet petitions are. Just give this a look:

Things may have changed over time, but I still feel pretty skeptical about this sort of thing. I think your heart is in the right place, but it would probably be much more effective to encourage people to take the time to actually contact any and all parties that can address this situation. Well, much more effective if anyone really takes the time to do it.

As an animal lover, I want to see the responsible person prosecuted. It would just be nice to see the emotion expressed here properly directed.

Although it may not necessarily remedy the problem, the important part is it does show that people see, acknowledge, and show desire to resolve various ailments many have to live with. Ideally thousands of people signing their name would be motivation to those within control to change things, but alas, the least we can do is raise awareness til someone who does have power, does something.

Really though, read the Snopes article. Internet petitions are probably not held in serious regard by many because of the ease with which a single person could generate thousands of fake "signatures," so this ultimately may do nothing at all. Raising awareness is good, but awareness is not enough to solve a problem. Encourage people to put their effort into doing something that those with the authority to punish the responsible party cannot ignore.

Let's get the actual contact information for "Brad King, Marion County Attorney" circulating with this petition. There's definitely more than one Marion County in the US. Which one is this? Where did this happen? Personally, I'd like to be able to call or write physically in addition to signing this.

This petition sends an email to the state attourneys(sp) office, and they are having a meeting on Tuesday about this. The goal is to have enough people sign this to get it through to them that something needs to be done, they are just going to let him walk away.

Is there a possibility of this not working? Yes, but that's not stopping us who were directly effected by this from getting others involved. (Insert V for Vendetta "Idea" reference here)

If enough people speak out against this, our voices will be heard. I continually thank everyone for their support in this, and I will keep you all up to date.

I've never had dog that was full w/e. Only ever had dogs we found on the side of the road, mutts that no one else wanted. Mutts are the best dogs, imo!

It's great there are some people who love enough to take in strays. At the same time, I'm relieved we don't see any around here...

Mutts are pretty awesome, all my husband's family dogs are mutts. They are the sweetest little buggers. My only issue with them is that if you don't know what went into them, then you don't know what they are 'normal' to do, I suppose. Like a breeded dog may predominantly love children, so I'd get it if I had a child. A different breed may usually hate children, so I would not get that one if I had a child. If it's a mutt, you don't know how it may react to children.

But even so, every mutt I've known has been darling.

Edit: And growth issues. If you don't know how big it will be, hard to say if you're house is ok for it.
