I think there's a huge difference between killing an animal for food and abusing/murdering an animal for no reason. There was a case about this guy working in a cow farm who would abuse the hell out of the cows because "They're gonna die anyway." Here:
Caution it's very sad and heartbreaking stuff.
I find this link the most upsetting, not many people seem to have commented on it compared to the others. Don't get me wrong, the others are horrific crimes but they are more small time than this, a whole farm being abused for god knows how long :/
It won't let me sign the petition, gotta be from the us. I don't know how old it is, could be outdated, but i say you try anyway.
Sorry for the late response took a break from forum searching for a while and completely forgot about this thread. D: I'm not 100% sure when the original post was posted however I did read that that he didn't get changed for his actions:

A quote from the website:
investigators and veterinarians studied the video and concluded Conklin acted appropriately
Appropriately? Really? Another guy that worked at the farm was charged with animal abuse but the owner of the farm got off apparently.
I do believe I read an article in the past, I currently can't find it though, however abused animals can develop and carry diseases in their meat after being slaughtered and some of us can eat that unaware of it. I love cows and chickens; I think they're so cute. I do know what they're raised for and everything like that and my love for them doesn't stop me from eating their products because... really :\ they taste pretty good. lol However, this type of down right wrong and disgusting abuse is just terrible. I highly believe in creatures being spared of pain and discomfort. If you're going to kill animals for food at least for it in a respectable way. If someone was to kill you, I'm sure you wouldn't want to be tortured to death. Quick and painless would be the only way most people would want to go.
