Ebisu Fishing Rod Question

Im close to the serpeant key item but im getting anxious, my friend has a few lik he said i could have, and was wondering if without this key item but inside the belly quest flagged if its possible to get the key items needed for ebisu early without serpeant key item.

For instance w/o key item if i can trade during under the belly quest using my friends liks he's gonna give me and get the item. Or if cause i have no key item if they wont let me trade and/or the ebisu item will not happen at all w/ 0% chance.

Inside the Belly is a seperate quest from Ebisu quest, so you don't need the key item to *get* the items. You only need the rumors to trade in the items to actually get the rod itself.
