Probably gonna be a Charr Warrior and maybe a Norn Ranger, as long as they don't let EA get involved with this game it should be sweet, every game EA get their hands on laetely just ends up completely broken/unfinished :\

I think EA getting their hands on GW2 would just ruin everything for me. ArenaNET seems to be going about things in exactly the manner I'd want a gaming company to(ie, enjoying their own game, fixing stuff that isn't fun, making sure it's done and not rushing it out the door), whereas EA is just a corporate behemoth that embodies most of what I find wrong with the industry these days.
It would break my heart to see GW2's potential undermined by such a union.
But yeah, GW2...
I was leaning towards Engineer but the more I learn about it the less appealing it sounds. Awesome conceptually, but the play style just doesn't do it for me. So I'll probably end up as a Charr Warrior, because honestly who doesn't want to play as a Charr Warrior? Hammers and Rifles is the goal for now, but we'll see how that plays out once I actually get my hands on the game. Sooo many choices with Warrior, it's gonna be fun to try 'em all out.
GW2Census is a neat tool you can add your characters to, and view everybody's answers divided into various categories. It's not official, but probably still a pretty accurate look into what the game's population will be like.
Interesting how profession choices have ended up fairly even...
So anyone got an e-mail saying they got into the beta? :)
If we say that we did get an e-mail, would this be against the NDA already? Cause if so, then i won't tell you. But if it isnt against the NDA then yes, i got an e-mail.
So Beta Weekend has a few hours left.. Sadly I have to sleep.
Anyone else played? What did you play?
I got a Charr Ranger to level 16 (after level 10 I started exploring, so I didn't get too far in story :S) and a Norn Engineer to level 9.
Some of the better screenshots I took xD <-- Players of GW1 should recognize this <- lowest graphic settings.. but xD
So I have a question for the people that have pre purchased.
I got it paid off from my local gamestop, they had a little trouble at first getting me a pre purchase code, but today they finally gave me the right one... so I entered it in... and I got a German email back (I mean it had the right context in it... just in german) and was a little curious if this has happened to anyone else or if someone might know why?
I've been emailing support about this for the last day or so (trying to get a legit pre purchase code) I just sent them a new email about this new development and hope that they can fix it up or give me a valid explanation.
Is it known when the actual game will go live? This may influence my decision of buying or not Diablo :o
As of last I knew no.
But I will say it seems as though it will be Q4, at the earliest it would like late July early August. They wont launch the game with like 2 weeks notice. After all it's still in Beta.

It's just the "You've signed up for the beta weekend! Click here to visit the forums, etc" email right? It was supposed to have instructions in all three (or four?) languages, but there was some issue where certain people were only seeing them in one.
I'm pretty sure that all of the links go to the same place and the language has nothing to do with your account region.
I don't know how many fans of Guild Wars we have here, but for me it will always have a special place in my heart. Guild Wars was a fast based CORPG (Co-operative RPG) with no subscription fees, and really fun PVP.
Well Guild Wars 2 is on the horizon, and BOY does that game look good.
Following the same pattern of having no subscription fees this game is going to take place 250 years later, on the content of Tyria.
The game is based around the same fast paced combat, with a few small changes ofc.
Here's a cool trailer to get you in the mood for it.
*Note: Everything is real time, Even though it looks like A cutscene, it's gameplay.
