- I've only played player vs. world/environment (played pvp once, but hated how damn long it took to walk back each time I was inevitably killed).
- Feel like all I ever do is mash abilities (sometimes timing them to be more beneficial of course) as soon as they're up and nothing much else.
- When I'm in a group I don't feel especially useful. I just come along and mash my buttons alongside the next person seemingly doing the same.
- No one ever talks in any of the groups i've been in! No 'hi', no nothing.
- I kinda have the same complaint about WvW. It's not really "advice", but the only thing I can recommend is to try rolling with a small efficient group taking little points instead of the huge zergs where you're sure to die.
- The combat gradually gets more challenging as you go up in level, so you might find you enjoy it more later. Your utilities will also be more meaningful when you can enhance them with traits.
- Unfortunately the huge events get pretty zerg-y too. Again, the higher level ones get more dangerous and require more attention.
- The community IS pretty antisocial, and it's too bad... all I can say is try making friends and joining a guild.
Decided to make two new characters today. Both are thieves.
New goal is to get them both to 80 in a relatively short period of time
Found your problem! ;)
lol but I did everything else in the game~
My next two thieves are going to be different.
One's going to be based on condition damage with dual daggers
the other one is going to be pistolwhip build.
all the while They are both going to farm up crafting materials and money so i can get commander status
There's so many people with the commander book at this point that it's pretty much useless and people are going to start ignoring commanders in WVW.
depends on guild though.
apparently with crystal desert there's a world mumble server that some guild is paying for.
and basically for large offenses they're like~ yo so if we got like 15~30+ people to follow each commander around, could hit things simultaneously.
it "could" be effective if it weren't for the fact that the majority of the zergs are filled with retards and people who are low level and undergeared when compared to an actual lv. 80 with full exotics

All kinds of tricks and treats are coming to the Gem Store this Halloween. Costumes that grant spooky skills, tonics that transform you into ghouls and ghosts, creepy crawly minis to follow you around. And don’t forget to pick up your free devil horns before they disappear!
The Black Lion Chest is getting a spooky upgrade for Halloween. Between October 23 and November 5 each Black Lion Chest you open has a chance to give you one of six exclusive Halloween-themed weapon skins!
THIS IS HOW YOU DO A HOLIDAY EVENT!!! ArenaNet has always had the absolute best holiday events ever, and they don't look to be disappointing with Guild Wars 2! Very excite!
It's tons of seasonal, themed minigames and decorations plus cosmetic rewards and purchasable skins. That's what a holiday event is supposed to be. Difference between ANet's holiday events and, say, SE's, is that ANet actually puts in effort and adds more than a single boring minigame that barely changes, if at all, from year to year with one or two rewards that are worthless outside of town gear and one or two proc WSs.
And if you really are so in need of something that gives you more than seasonal spirit, they're also adding immensely rewarding Halloween themed dynamic event chains.
Does the halloween stuff require level 80? Because the game was very boring and I forced myself to get 45 thinking it would get better, but I want halloween stuff.
Game gets better after 60, but you pretty much have to enjoy PvP to get the most out of it. Not for everyone I guess, I personally find the dynamic events and exploration setup more enjoyable than conventional MMOs.
They have a few uses now. Chance at a permanent mobile banker, merchant, mystic forge, or trading post summoning stone was added fairly recently. Boosters are always useful. And for Halloween you'll be able to get Halloween themed weapon skins.
Update isn't until midnight, but Halloween stuff will mostly be in Lion's Arch. Will be tents around several zones for quests and minigames, and mining nodes for some of the materials to craft Halloween Legendaries.
Anyone know of a "okay" laptop to play this game on? I'm looking to buy one, it doesn't have to be a gaming laptop really, just something that will be able to run the game at around 30 FPS on med to high settings.
I don't know how many fans of Guild Wars we have here, but for me it will always have a special place in my heart. Guild Wars was a fast based CORPG (Co-operative RPG) with no subscription fees, and really fun PVP.
Well Guild Wars 2 is on the horizon, and BOY does that game look good.
Following the same pattern of having no subscription fees this game is going to take place 250 years later, on the content of Tyria.
The game is based around the same fast paced combat, with a few small changes ofc.
Here's a cool trailer to get you in the mood for it.
*Note: Everything is real time, Even though it looks like A cutscene, it's gameplay.
