the armor shown in character creation is all tier 3 cultural i think

Not quite. I figured out that for my Male Sylvari Guardian, the outfit in the creation screen is a combination of Tier 2 Cultural Chest and Legs, Whispers Faction Boots and Gloves, and Ascalonian Catacombs exotic shoulders.

Needless to say I was frustrated.

I really can't stress enough how much i absoloutley hate this games trading post system >:( i put a piece of armor up yesterday for 2.3g which is pretty much the cost of the materials that go into it and within 30 minutes people had undercut it to less than 2g -_- and it seems to happen every single damn time..

Eh that pretty sums up any games auction system. Things will eventually sell regardless , but one thing this has that I like is the order system on it. If someone wants said piece then it sells instantly, no need to wait for the RMTs and morons to quit fluctuating the market... Also hate the people trying to buy something for less that npc price, TP won't let ya sell for less anyways loo

That's this (ridiculous :P) one, right?

Apparently it's the rare tailoring skin. If it works the same way leatherworker does, you make them with intricate insignias bought with karma from a master crafter.

I really love this game, but high level play needs some major tweaking. Playing (if you can call "mindlessly spam your biggest AoE as fast a possible" playing) through the exact same four events over and over again, dealing with 50 other people and 100 bots isn't fun at all, and shouldn't be the only viable activity at 80.

The easiest thing they could do is start by suspending the botters... it's so obvious who's running one, what are they waiting for? After that they need to tweak the drops you get playing in lower level areas at 80 so that they're not completely worthless.

Seriously?

So you're not bothered at all by the 100 bots who teleport around Orr, killing your monsters and occasionally spamming random numbers or Chinese into the chat?

Or only being able to play in 4 areas (3 or which have the exact same drab look and identical monsters) if you want your time/gold to be worthwhile?

nope cuz i found a good area to farm with 0 botters/people and i make about 1~1.5g/30min sometimes more.

I regularly do tournament pvp, world vs world borderlands & eternal battlegrounds, and do multiple dungeons with friends or randoms.
overall i think the game is great and can't wait for the expansions.

If you're satisfied playing in the same place every day, all by yourself so you can fap to your waifu, that's fantastic for you... but I like actually having some variety and getting to meet other people. :P

My complaints are towards the open world PvE. I really like how the dungeons are set up and I enjoy WvW and sPvP (although I'm a little tired of just one game mode, can't wait for the first big PvP update!).

I'm actually quite glad they changed PvE to open world for GW2; 1 had its advantages with, but it just didn't feel like an online game when the majority of the time tended to be spent just playing with bots.

The only real complaint I have thus far is that they haven't yet added arenas; PvP in 1 was the reason I bought 2, and being forced to resort to AoE spam is particularly unexciting. Once 4- or 5-man random matches are introduced and strategy returns to the PvP realm, I'll be quite content.

not sure what the fuss is over farming. If you just play the game and enjoy it its more worth while than farming.

I am on a low population server, and honest to god I am amazed Arena net has made a game where bots can help the players! A majority of the dynamic events I have done would not even be possible if it werent for them.

Given that, look at exotic gear; you are skin farming because you can craft or get from dungeons the same stats.

You can do map clears for money, do dungeon runs story or explore, harvest materials, salvage items, there are a lot of ways to make money

I've even started to make a profit from crafting which I think is madness!

Over all this game is rather amazing for people who actually enjoy playing video games. It is not a standard MMO, and I feel for people who enjoy MMO and have only been MMO players this game might not be for them. The end game is all of the game; you can find a challenge right out side your starting zone at 80 even.

My only complaint is the loot is not worth the challenge of any of the events and I feel they will address this in the near future

yes... this is a big post ._. Hope it helps any one debating trying the game :s and maybe motivates some people to approach it differently and actually ENJOY the game and the amazing world that arena net has created.

This has to do with bots and rmt I feel. They are forcing the economy into a place where the player cant make money. It is unfortunate because the TP is server wide which is flooding the market removing the concept of supply and demand.

However the game is new and in a few months this system will improve. I've already seen some progress being made in that direction.

Another issue is people use crafting to lvl, so materials will be more costly because a lot of people will be competing to make the same armor rather than buying it and in the end npcing or selling at a low price is a better way to recover some of the money spent on materials.

I was wondering if anyone had experience with the Mac beta. I am running it on a Macbook Pro that meets/exceeds all of the system requirements. Yet, when I play the game, I have to play with extremely low graphics settings for the game to run smoothly. I think I'd enjoy this game so much more if I could experience it's good graphics. If anyone has any tips that'd be awesome!!

I can make money just fine :| Usually it's the RMTs keeping the market stable so they have a steady flow of cash while the impatient normal players undercut or inflate the market.

My problem isn't that I can't make money, it's that if I *want* to make money, going to areas other than the four high-level zones (or two, because all of the orr zones feel like the same place) isn't worthwhile. It goes against one of the design philosophies ArenaNet claims to have, that "the whole game is endgame."

And also how indifferent they seem towards the rampant botting, but that's kinda unrelated.

you can go to the low level zones and farm monsters that drop bags.
you can kill them super quick and easy (depending on class)

and sell the common crafting and fine crafting mats they sell. Sure they only sell for 30c or so each but the amount that drop is crazy. On top of that rare/exotic item drops scales with your level.
So you can go to the starter Lv.1~10 zones and still find Lv. 79~80 rares/exotics if you're lucky

My girlfriend plays on a macbook pro. The one thing your Mac's do not have is a GPU.
CPU Check
Memory Check
GPU Discrete/Integrated

Well I'm officially bored with GW2 lol. Just working towards legendary atm.

Decided to make two new characters today. Both are thieves.
New goal is to get them both to 80 in a relatively short period of time and use them to farm a stupid amount of crafting mats for item transmutation, mystic coins, badges of honor and to farm my farming area x3.

And not sure I may transfer servers in a few days or so depending if my friends decided to quit gw2 until next expansion

/shrug

whouldnt mund more quests per town itself instead of one heart quest per waypoint, surely there has to be more than one npc per WP/Town that needs help <and no dramatic events dont count>
