I remember back in the day when Dervish didn't need any god-damn adrenaline, and wounding strike was near broken with chilling victory and Victorious sweep. Especially if you used it with Attackers insight and Crippling Sweep That was a build I made totally on my own, and I raped face with it
I invented the illusionary weaponist! I don't care who says otherwise D:

This is why Ashman is my diving knight of justice and prosperity.
:3
Illusionary weapon was a fun build to run in PVE, never tried it PVP. I was always a migraine mesmer in PVP
If someone pops all your enchantments, you're basically a gimp warrior. PvE it's rediculous as long as you get a couple "buffer" enchantments on when fighting necros (to avoid dispelling IW or other buffs).
Then again I quit back when they started letting you "buy runes" (ie 3 months after game came out lol). I remember being one of the first ones into Droknar's forge.
I came back to play once or twice and the *** decided "count von taint" was an inappropriate name. go figure.

I had a friend who was SO into Derv that he wouldn't do anything with our guild unless he could be his Derv.
Healer? "I got a build for that"
Support? "Arcane Zeal build, lemme come"
Tank? "Obsidian Armour derv."
I remember when I first capped Reaper's Sweep from Asterius the Mighty on my Derv a few years ago, I found him fighting a group of Centaur and he actually died. I was chuffed.
Warrior is nice, if you play melee Derv, alot of Warrior skills are melee, and use Adrenaline, which you'll be getting alot of with melee and aoe swings.
Alot of subs are situational, and once you do the mission "Captured!" you'll be able to buy other subs and swap between, so it doesn't make much difference.
Ended up rolling warrior, and hit 20 just yesterday. Definitely seems like the right choice, even though all of its abilities that I'm using are more conveniences than anything else (with the exception of disrupting strike, for PVP). I'll check out some other subs when the time comes, but so far, for its purposes, /WAR seems right up my alley.
I remember running people to Droknar's Forge with my WAR running build, it was pretty fun and very profitable. I ended up with a load of platinum in that game, so much that I didn't know what to do with it and I'm on like my 3rd set of prestige armour with all my characters.

I remember watching my bro get a run to Droknar's.
the runner was a level 2 Warrior with 100% Tyria mapping title in Elite Plate.

Dervish was a great job. It was the melee DD of choice. Warrior was a good all rounder and great in certain niche's (keeping people knocked down with back breaker, or other small parts) but just for straight up killing speed I always rated Dervish the highest. I never like Assassin.
Monk, Ele and Dervish were probably my favourite jobs.
SWAY Ranger and Bunny Thumper ranger was great fun too. So was spirit spamming as a ritualist for that matter.
I was never a big fan of WAR or Paragon, Mesmer was ok and Necro was fun but not very effective.

I remember making a bit of money on my Ranger
I'd shout for people to fight my Pet 1on1, and only the harder hitting warriors/ele/dervs could manage to do it, and with only a few HP left.
Earned me a bit of money xD
Logged on to GW for my first time in 3 years and opened up all of my birthday presents. Got a bunch of purples... and then, the most amazing thing I've ever seen. Back when I still played I remember it was fabled and coveted, don't know what it's worth now, but, Miniature Black Beast of Aaaarrrggghhh
Dunno what anything is worth in terms of rarity anymore. I have a whole bank slot full of tormenter's and fiery dragon swords, some icy dragon swords, zodiac weapons... was all rare when I was still playing. I even have a Miniature Asura from that magazine promotion back when they were releasing GWEN.
I'll probably just end up dedicating it all in anticipation for GW2 or something. I only need a couple more titles and heroes to max out those categories, need a lot of armor and weapons tho. Minis I have tons and tons of.
I have one of those too lol. I just dedicated all of mine. I have a miniature Bone Dragon, that's my favourite mini, followed by my Mini Eye of Janthir
I can't wait for this game. It looks like it's going to be a blast. My problem is that I don't know which classes I want to go with when it finally gets released, and unless I land a spot in the beta I'm gonna be sitting there at the character creation screen absolutely stumped for a while.
I don't know how many fans of Guild Wars we have here, but for me it will always have a special place in my heart. Guild Wars was a fast based CORPG (Co-operative RPG) with no subscription fees, and really fun PVP.
Well Guild Wars 2 is on the horizon, and BOY does that game look good.
Following the same pattern of having no subscription fees this game is going to take place 250 years later, on the content of Tyria.
The game is based around the same fast paced combat, with a few small changes ofc.
Here's a cool trailer to get you in the mood for it.
*Note: Everything is real time, Even though it looks like A cutscene, it's gameplay.
